What a week we have just had, started with 2 successful sales to the first viewings of the ponies to such lovely homes and fab little 8yo jockeys
Friday lunch we trucked to for our first ever stay away Bs show but it was needed for various reasons- Quickie has had a very slow start to his education first my shoulder when he was first broken then I had the 2 children, brought him back as a 7yo and had a good summer training and getting our self’s going together for him to then break his pedal bone, he had 10months off more because I wanted to make sure he had more time than needed and came back before Christmas but it’s so hard to get the work in because I have to put payers first which means Qu**ky barely gets the attention he needs so he’s done 5 shows jumping 85 and 90 and somewhat spaced out so this weekend was about really finding what’s in the tank and what we are working towards. I don’t think we actually jumped a clear with 4 flts in his 90 and 95 and 1m but his technique has really improved and I have come out grinning like a Cheshire Cat each time, he even finished with a 105 memorial cup class and no it wasn’t great 2 poles and a stop because he’s glaring at something (shadows we think) and scorching heat and mental exhaustion I should imagine but the actual fences felt fab and I’m mega excited for what we can get up to if I just commit and prioritize more time to my boy, it has been so good to spend time with my homebred properly.
Millie’s mission was consistency with Ellie and she was outstanding for the first two days but found the heat and 3 days to much yesterday but that shouldn’t take away just how awesome she was being placed with a few clear rounds and stepping up to 95s which is a huge achievement from just 6weeks ago.
Dukey boy finished Millie’s weeknd with her first 105 in 2years with a clear and place and unreal clear round around a very up to height course.
Can not wait for the next one, we are hooked
Horses and friends all weekend thank you to the girls for all your help, laughs and company xx
