Very pleased with how the first group on Saturday’s pony morning are getting on with their pony handling skills .Here , they are learning to control their pony’s feet by weaving over the line of poles.

Join Nikki Stephens & Tamsin Clarke Tarr, at Burcott Riding School, for a series of dismounted ‘Winter Warmer Workshops’ and ridden Learn Légèreté Clinics.

You will learn a precise and systematic approach to training your horse coupled with an in-depth understanding of how to improve and perfect your own riding.

There will be interactive learning, homemade cake and lots of laughter along the way.

Did you know we have an Advanced Légèreté instructor training course coming up this November with Master teacher Sylvia Stossel?

The weather is kind, there is enough light, there really is still time to be inspired by and for your horse! This may be just what you need to see you into the winter months...

While these clinics are billed as advanced, they are a great opportunity to see horses who are at the very start of their education in Légèreté too. There will be young horses learning the basics, and more experienced partnerships who are developing a new approach to riding and training.

There will also be the opportunity to see horses who are training in high school, working on piaffe, passage, changes and more.

In addition, several teachers will be giving lessons to an 'unknown' rider and horse combination, trying to assess what would make the most difference to them both in that moment. Sylvia provides feedback to both teacher and student regarding this. Always a fascinating insight into how teachers make decisions according to the principles of this school.

We hope you will join us for 1 to 3 days of the clinic, it is always a welcoming atmosphere with a strong community of people interested in riding with respect for the horse.

Whenever Maddie comes to visit she always tries to sneak a ride on Harvey- reckons she plans the days when she knows he’s not on a lesson…..This is what she got up to today when my back was turned……
Moral of the story is to never trust an apprentice- old apprentice on the pony - new apprentice taking the photo!
