🐾 A little reminder for Dog Gainz clients.

I have a fully enclosed 3-acre field in Priddy for walks, playtime and training sessions. It gives dogs space to move, explore and enjoy themselves in a safe private setting.

The field has agility equipment, a paddling pool for cooling off on warmer days and a table with benches if you would like to sit while your dog has a good explore.

Clients can use the field for a small fee, so just pop me a message if you would like to book a slot.

🐾 Planned aircraft noise over parts of Somerset may affect pets tomorrow and Thursday.

There is planned military aircraft activity over parts of Somerset on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th August between 2.30pm and 5pm, which may mean periods of louder aircraft noise locally.

If your pet is easily unsettled by sudden noise, it may help to plan ahead where possible:

🐶 Keep dogs on leads during this time.
🐱 Bring cats indoors if they are easily worried.
🏡 Give nervous pets a calm space inside.
🚪 Check gates, doors and garden access.
🐰 Make sure smaller pets are secure and settled.

I will also be keeping this in mind with my Dog Gainz fur clients and making sure pets in my care are supported as calmly as possible.

🐾 Some of the cats I visit are happiest staying in their own familiar space.

Every pet is different and owners know their cats best. Some cats do well with a cattery, while others are more comfortable staying at home with their usual feeding spots, favourite places to nap and familiar surroundings.

Cat visits are always shaped around the cat. Some come straight over to say hello, some enjoy a little fuss once they are ready and some are happiest having quiet company while everything is checked and topped up.

That is what I enjoy about cat visits. Getting to know their little ways, respecting their space and making sure they feel comfortable while their owners are away.

🐾 Sniffing is an important part of a dog’s walk.

It gives dogs time to explore their surroundings, enjoy mental stimulation and get more from their walk than physical exercise alone.

I love seeing the dogs I walk out in the fresh air, following scents, taking everything in and getting that mix of movement and enrichment.

A good walk is not always about covering the most distance. Sometimes it is the quieter moments, the pauses and the chance to properly explore that make the walk so worthwhile for them.

🐾 One-to-one walks and carefully matched company both have their place at Dog Gainz.

Not every dog enjoys the same kind of walk. Some are happiest with individual time, some enjoy walking with a suitable dog and some need a little more space to focus, sniff or take things at their own pace.

For me, it is about making thoughtful choices that suit each dog I spend time with, rather than treating every walk the same.

That is a big part of Dog Gainz. Regular outings, reliability and walks that are planned with care, confidence and understanding.

🐾 Regular outings and reliability matter when it comes to dogs.

Walks give dogs more than exercise. They give them movement, stimulation, fresh air and a familiar part of their day to look forward to.

At Dog Gainz, I know how important it is for owners to have someone reliable they can trust. When a dog is used to seeing me for their walk or visit, that consistency helps build confidence and gives them regular time out with someone they know.

For me, it is about turning up, understanding the dog in front of me and making sure their time with Dog Gainz is positive, engaging and properly looked after.

🐾 I know how much it means to hear how your pet is getting on.

When your dog, cat or smaller pet is in my care, I want you to feel reassured as well as them. Whether it is a walk, a home visit or pet sitting while you are away, I know those little updates can really matter.

A quick message, a photo or a note to say they are settled can make such a difference, especially when you are trusting someone else with a much-loved part of your family.

That is why I always keep owners updated where I can. It is part of the trust, care and reassurance I want Dog Gainz to be known for.

🐾 Games-based training helps me understand what each dog responds to best.

It gives me a better feel for each dog’s personality, confidence and the little things that help them engage while we are out together.

Some dogs respond well to focus games, some need time to build confidence and some enjoy having something to think about as part of their walk.

That is why I use games-based training as part of the way I work at Dog Gainz. It helps me adapt to the dog in front of me and make their time with me more positive.
