Grandmother Summer and her granddaughter Faberge recently visited our Wellington hospital. They are both Irish Setters.

🐶Did You Know?

The Irish Setter is also often called the Red Setter (or Madra rua – which means red dog in Gaelic) because of his stunning coat. It is said that the same gene that makes the Irish Setter red is the same one that is found in Irish and Scottish people to give so many of them ginger hair and freckles!

Ever wondered where your dog stays when they have a day or overnight visit to us?

We have a range of different size kennels to make sure your dog gets an appropriate size for them. All our kennels come with waterproof mattresses to keep your dog comfy as well as vet bedding to provide warmth and also absorb away any liquids in the case of an accident.

We have music playing for the patients during the day (Research shows that dogs particularly enjoy reggae music!) as well as a pheromone diffuser to help with the calming environment.

We have been awarded the “dog friendly” status from the Dog’s Trust “dog friendly vet clinics” scheme!

The purpose of Happy Cat Month is to promote the health and well-being of pet cats. At our Gold Cat Friendly veterinary hospital, we have two assigned ‘cat advocates’, James Cavanagh (Veterinary Surgeon & Director) and Laura Rowbotham (Veterinary Nurse). This means you can come to us for expert advice on cat care.

If you need any advice please contact us through PetsApp or call us 01823 662286.

Our Wiveliscombe branch will be closed on Friday 12th September, but will open again on Monday 15th as usual.
