Important notice regarding weather ⚠️
Due to the intense heatwave this week i will be taking extra precautions to keep your dogs safe and comfortable this week. I have already contact those booked in for Wednesday and Thursday to reschedule your appointment due to it being dangerous for your pups to be out in the heat.
Please can I ask that none of your pups are walked before their appointments and are driven and then carried into the salon if this is possible. Pavements will be HOT🔥 and this can cause burns and blisters to their paws which will be painful for them! Cars without aircon are also very dangerous in this heat so please please please message me if you’re unable to get your dog to their appointment safely. I’d absolutely hate for anything to happen to your beloved pets. Your pups safety and welfare will always come first.
The first signs of heatstroke include:
‼️ excessive noisy panting
‼️ thick drool
‼️ Bright red or pale gums
This can then worsen to include:
‼️ weakness
‼️ vomiting
‼️ diarrhoea
‼️ seizures
While I understand that giving them a groom can help to cool them off, the journey to and from the salon is going to be a huge risk. I am more than happy to reschedule your grooms, at no charge, to next week when it cools down again.
However if any dog shows up to their appointment showing any of the heat stroke signs I will have no choice but to turn them away and full payment will be required to make up for the lost time.
If your pup doesn’t have a groom booked then please be safe out there! There’s lots of ways to help your pups stay cool in the heat. My pups favourite way is a cooling mat with a cooling bandana on with a homemade doggy ice lolly, made with frozen kefir, dog safe fruits and a few meaty treats in there for good measure 🥰 keep them inside where possible and avoid walking them between 8am and 8pm.
