✨🐾 MAY IS VETERINARY NURSE AWARENESS MONTH 🐾✨

This month, we are celebrating our incredible Veterinary Nurses here at Washington Vets4pets 😍

A huge thank you to Abbey, Alix, Beth, Debi, Ellie, Georgia, Jess, Leanne, Millie, Mollie and Phil for the care, compassion and dedication they show every single day. From comforting worried pets and owners to supporting our vets and keeping the practice running smoothly, their hard work never goes unnoticed.

We are so proud of each and every one of them and feel incredibly lucky to have such a talented, caring and hardworking team. The love and commitment they show to our patients makes a difference every day.

Please join us in celebrating them all 🐶🐱🐭🐰

Meet Bea🐶 she’s 8 weeks old and came in for her first puppy vaccinations today! She also was the bravest girl for her microchip and clearly sat very well for her photo taken. We’re looking forward to seeing her grow❤️🐾

🌟Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week🌟

Today we want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing receptionist team - Sonia, Hope, Sam, Abbie, Lauren, Sam, Kelly & Liann.

Receptionists are the heart of the practice, the first friendly welcome our clients receive and the steady support that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From managing the very busy phone calls and booking appointments to comforting worried pet owners, you handle it all with patience, kindness, and professionalism. Not to mention dishing out all of the treats (and we’re not just talking about the patients!)

We see all of the hard work, the multitasking, and the care you put into every single day, and we are so grateful to have you all as part of our team. The practice wouldn’t be the same without you 💚

📣 IMPORTANT PET TRAVEL UPDATE FOR UK OWNERS⚠️

Today we have been informed that the rules governing pet cat, dog and ferret travel from Great Britain to the EU will change on the 22nd April 2026.

From the 22nd April, the EU will only accept entry of animals with an EU pet passport if the owner's main residence is within the EU. Owners whose main residence is within the UK will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) to travel to the EU after the 22nd April.

*To confirm- EU issued pet passports will no longer be valid for GB residents, even if they were issued prior to 22 April 2026. You will now need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip to the EU.*

Please see the government website for more details: https://www.gov.uk/taking-your-pet-abroad

We appreciate this will be highly irritating for our clients with pet passports. If this affects your travel plans and you would like to discuss AHC's please call us on 0191 4194200

Take your pet dog, cat or ferret abroad: getting a pet passport or export health certificate, microchip, vaccinations and tapeworm treatments.
