🐾 – Humphrey 🐾

Meet Humphrey, a lovely Chocolate Labrador who recently visited the Warwick surgery after getting his paws on some chocolate cake. 🍰

Since chocolate can be dangerous for dogs, we gave Humphrey an injection to make him sick and help get it out of his system quickly. Thankfully, he’s now doing well and back to his usual happy self. 🤎

Here he is with our lovely nurse, Amber.

🧡 This is Stokes the Cocker Spaniel 🧡

Stokes recently visited our Warwick surgery after his owners noticed him shaking his head. Vets Sarah and Ella quickly discovered the cause—a pesky grass seed lodged in his ear!

Stokes was such a brave boy and let them remove it while he was still conscious. What a superstar! 🌟

Grass seeds are common this time of year. They regularly get lodged in ears, eyes and paws. We recommend checking your dogs all over after each walk.

🐶 Cute puppies alert! 🐶

This adorable litter of Hungarian Vizsla puppies visited our Stratford surgery recently for their vaccinations. They definitely melted a few hearts while they were there! 💉

Vaccinations are a vital part of keeping your puppy healthy and protected as they grow and explore the world. It’s also a great opportunity for socialisation and positive experiences at the surgery.

💚 Meet Jasmine – Our new Veterinary Nurse 💚

We’re thrilled to welcome Jasmine to the Avonvale team! She joined us at our Heathcote surgery recently and is already settling in well.

Here’s a little introduction from Jasmine herself:

🗨️ “Hello! I studied veterinary nursing in South Wales and moved to Warwick to start my nursing degree after working as a student veterinary nurse in another practice. I’ve just recently qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). I have a keen interest in exotics, especially birds of prey, and I keep some of my own – including owls and hawks! I also have a cat called Lemon Drizzle, who I hand reared. Back home in Wales, my family dog is a foxhound named Oona. I love working dog breeds, but hounds are definitely my favourite! I’m really looking forward to meeting the lovely pets at Avonvale and continuing to develop my nursing skills.”

Please join us in giving Jasmine a warm welcome to the team – we’re lucky to have her on board. 🐾

This is Goose, a 10 week old Labrador puppy. He recently underwent an operation to have a squeaker from a toy removed from his intestines.

He has recovered well from his ordeal and is now enjoying life on a farm with his new family.

Look at these little cuties 🐱

These 5 kittens were left on the doorstep of a home in Coventry and brought into the Warwick surgery.

Rescue centres are currently full to bursting but fortunately for these little ones, we have been able to rehome them all through staff members and their friends and families.

Neutering is beneficial for a cat's health and welfare. We recommend neutering cats to prevent unwanted pregnancies and incidents like this from occurring.

📞 If you need any advice on neutering, please call any of the Avonvale practices.

Meet Babs and Bruce who recently came into our Southam surgery to be neutered. They enjoyed our feline friendly consult room exploring the different level shelves, scratching post and toys. Their operations were both successful and they went home the same day.

To celebrate International Cat Day we'd love to see your adorable feline friends. Please comment below with photos of your cats 🐱

Today is Cycle to Work Day🚲

Warwick vets, Simon and Ella and Insurance Administrator, Ruth regularly take to 2 wheels to cycle into work.

Between them the amount of C02 saved per year by not using their cars is the equivalent of 35 trees planted! 🌳

We recently gathered some of our nurses for a lunch and learn training session conducted by Nikki, a Physiotherapist from West Midlands Referrals.

The session was very informative and provided the team with some valuable knowledge.

Nikki was also able to demonstrate physio techniques on Krunchie the Cocker Spaniel who belongs to one of our nurses 🐶

Meet Bumble 🐕

Bumble is a 5 year old Labrador who is currently having hydrotherapy to treat an injury in his left forelimb after jumping over a park fence! He loves his sessions and adores the water. During his latest visit, he decided to do the whole session with Hydrotherapist, Olivia's shoe in his mouth! Look how pleased he is with himself!

Hydrotherapy is available at our Wellesbourne surgery. It is beneficial for patients with joint disease, to treat injuries, those who are recovering from surgery or those that need to get fit or lose weight.

📞 Please call Wellesbourne surgery on 01789 841072 if you would like further information about our hydrotherapy services.
