With Clinical Behaviourist Charis leading us we have a dedicated team providing the best training and behaviour and product advice to the pet owners of Wiltshire and Somerset. ughout the week with an extensive timetable from puppy socialisation to obedience and canine sports

We also provide 1:1 training in our centre along with a consultation room for meetings with our fully qualified behaviourist who will help you to work with behaviour problems in your dogs

🌟🌟FREE Traning Class🌟🌟

We love hosing APDT assessments for up coming dog trainers who are taking their practical assessment for accreditation in the dog training industry!

Our next day is Sunday 30th Nov and we have free training classes available!

No experience is necessary and all abilities welcome!

These classes are for dogs who are over 6 months old and happy to be in a class around other dogs and humans

🎉We’re so excited to be bringing you a Rally event in the new year🎉

TD Rally event
Date - Jan 17th
Cost - £12 per entry
Levels available - 1,2 and 3
Time - from 1pm (time slots will be allocated once all participators are booked)

A spectator area will be provided with refreshments but we will ask your dogs to remain in the car until it’s their turn.

Level 1 will run first followed by level 2 and 3. You are welcome to participate in one or two levels.

Each course will be scored in line with TD Rally rules. If you’d rather scores not be taken, published or shared you can take part Not For Competition (NFC)

Courses will be available before the day. You are allowed to walk the course prior to taking part but not with your dog. Each course will be walked at the beginning of each level time slot which will be published once all entries are in.

We had such an awesome time hosting our Canine Ninja Warrior Games. We are so proud of all of the dogs and their owners who came along. The dogs were incredible and all had an amazing time, as did we! Well done 🐶🐾

🧙🎃👻 Are You Halloween Ready….??

It’s the season and as much as I love Halloween, this time of year can be a real challenge for our dogs. There’s so much advice out there (for better or worse), I’m not going to reinvent the wheel……however I am going to share my top tips with you to try to ensure our dogs come out of this fun filled time of year unscathed and ready for Christmas!

🎃 Trick or Treaters!
This Friday we are likely to see some trick or treaters at your door depending on where you live….
✅ put up a sign asking for no knocking if your dog is sound sensitive or door reactive - you could leave out a bowl of children to take their own if you still want to be involved
✅ make sure you have adequate gates/doors for your dog to go behind you are going to answer to trick or treaters
✅ be mindful that even the best socialised dog may react negatively to trick or treat costumes so be ready with positive reinforcement method to help them if this happens
✅ be sure that if repeated door knocking is becoming stressful that you take action to help them to be able to relax with lots of calming enrichment like LickiMats, Kongs and natural chews
❌ don’t let your dog answer the door with you if they are nervous or reactive
❌ don’t take your dog trick or treating if they are sensitive or unsure

🎇 Be prepared for fireworks!

From this week we are likely to see some fireworks as the nights draw in….
✅ close curtains and blinds and all windows
✅ use a valerian extract to promote calmness
✅ use an ADAPTIL collar to reduce stress
✅ keep evenings relaxed and use clam enrichment like LickiMats and Kongs and natural chews
✅ comfort your dog if they need it
✅ use background noise in all rooms the dog has access too
❌ avoid walking in the dark and make sure there is plenty of exercise during daylight hours
❌ avoid leaving them at home on their own if displays are happening nearby
❌ avoid garden time during prime display time and always check the garden before access

We often open discussions around diet, nutrition, weight and other areas of health with our clients when we are working together.

So often hindsight is not all that helpful when we are working through particular foods that may flare various aspects of our dogs day to day so we recommend keeping a food diary to help us to track preferences, changes and health status!

If you’ve been encountering challenges with your dogs appetite, behaviour, weight or digestive health - try keeping a diary whilst working with your vets and behaviourist to track those changes and work out where some tweaks may be required 🐾

Our Story

Charismatic Pets is a K9 centre in Warminster specialising in Behaviour, Training & Daycare alongside a well equipped grooming parlour with a fabulous groomer and a Pet Shop stocking only recommended specifically sourced products that are hand picked by our team. We have been providing behaviour, training & pet sitting services since 2010 and proudly opened our training and daycare facility in November 2013. With head behaviourist Charis leading us we have a dedicated team of dog trainers and pet carers that help us to provide the best care, training and behaviour advice to the pet owners of Wiltshire and Somerset. We also work closely with all of our grooming clients providing a bespoke and carefully crafted grooming experience, often working with dogs who most other groomers are unable to groom. We provide daily daycare for dogs Mon-Fri in our 5star licensed facility, where they can come to stay with us for the day between the hours of 8.00am-6.00pm with the option of half days and pick ups and drop offs with our pet taxi services. We provide a daily enrichment and training schedule for all dogs with bespoke care plans for each individual and report cards for feedback to owners. We also provide a bespoke pet sitting and dog walking service for those that would prefer home visits, overnight pet sitting or care for any other species from cats to reptiles. Our walks are single household only so we can ensure your pet gets the attention they deserve and to ensure no bad habits are perpetuated. Each of our walking clients also have a bespoke care plan written up so that all of our careers work together to ensure the highest level of care. Our established training courses run throughout the week with an extensive timetable including puppy socialisation , general obedience and K9 sports such as TDRally, Flyball, Agility and K9 activities. We also provide 1:1 training in our centre and in the home along with a consultation room for meetings with our fully qualified behaviourist who will help you to work with behaviour problems in your dogs. Working closely with our local vets Charis is an APDT member and stays up to date with all current behavioural developments and research.
