🚨Signs of a hard day….
In our household it’s gifts 🎁
Pennywise brings me gifts when she’s had hard day.
🪧 What are the signs in your house??
I love my gifts and accept them readily and encourage a settle and a cuddle.
Today it was too warm for her to go running with Rigsy so she had to stay home 🥺
Today my gift was a bag of shiny beads ❤️
Don’t panic she had lots to do to keep her busy.
All of our dogs have ways to let us know that they might be having a harder day. This can be down to big events, little events or an accumulation of events.
If our dogs have a build up of stressors day to day without adequate outlet for decompression then this can cause an accumulation over time.
Whether you understand that as a “full bucket” “too many candles” “empty battery” or other analogies, they all explain how important it is that we allow our dogs time to reset, recover and relax if there have been any stressors across the day.
The same applies to the other end of the lead too…us humans need this decompression too, otherwise our buckets overflow, wild fire spreads or batteries die.
Things we can do to help our dogs:
✅ Look after ourselves
✅ Know what signs to look for if today has been a hard day
✅ Know what decompression activities really help empty that bucket, put out those candles and charge that battery
✅ Provide outlet that is appropriate and fulfilling
✅ Be ready to manage the next experience of these stressors
