✅1-8 show jumps, followed straight on by 1-9 XC fences to then finish over a joker plank

For me, the whole point of running our competitions, is the joy of seeing our new competitors achieve the little wins.
The other day I was stopped at a competition and told how a young boy who had started at Lyford had completed his first novice BE event. We are so many people’s first competition venue and I’m truly honoured so many of you choose to come to us. We try to promote an atmosphere that is encouraging and supportive and the sound of you all cheering on competitors you’ve never met honestly melts my heart.
Today one of our competitors went over and above! Bella Stevens was walking her course when a younger nervous little jockey needed some support. In her wellies, Bella ran the course with her. Thank you, all of you who came today and who come to any of our shows. Thank you for embracing the supportive and positive community we want to encourage at Lyford. ❤️

If you are thinking about coming to our ODE on Sunday please enter! We are still short of entries to make it not only viable but also a competition. Although we close entries on Thursday and I know we tend to get a last minute flurry, we will make a call tonight on whether we run. We’d love to see you and we’d love to go ahead but we need enough time to set the courses and give everyone volunteering and entering a heads up. X

A massive thank you to all those who came to our weekend of competitions.
The weather wasn’t favourable to everyone but thank you all for braving it.
An update of results will follow shortly but in the meantime a plug for our next ODE on Aug 3rd. It takes a massive amount of organisation to put on even our little ODEs and currently we only have 1 entry. I understand everyone is worried about the ground but ours is fabulous so if you’re planning to enter please do!!! I try to keep running even with low entries but at present we can’t run 😢

Thank you to everyone who came to our ODE this weekend and thank you all for the comments about the ground, especially in the showjumping, being so good.

It’s difficult at this time of year with the weather having been so extreme but hopefully with the rain that’s due this week, everything will green up even more and make it even better for this coming weekend 🤞

Preparations are well underway for our first ODE of the season. I know many are worried about the ground but we are in old turf and it’s actually really spongey. Dressage in an arena and we’re starting early to beat the heat. Entries are low but we are still running!!! There’s still time to enter. Go to horse events and get your entries in!!! X
