North Farm Stud Equestrian

North Farm Stud Equestrian North Farm Stud in Oxfordshire is a BHS-Approved 5* Full/Part Livery yard which also caters for Brood mares.

North Farm Stud - three generations of Thoroughbred experience and the home of

Fawley Stud was set up in the early 1950s by David (Ian) and Agnes Muir and their success was built on the performance of horses bred there. Among these was WHAT A MYTH, who was bred at Fawley Stud and trained by Ryan Price and who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1969 and the Whitbread at Sandown in 1966.

Ryan Price was a regular customer at the stud and a friend of the Muir family. After selling Fawley Stud in 1982, Mr and Mrs Muir spent seven years negotiating with the planning authorities for permission to get change of use on the current site which is now of North Farm Stud. North Farm Stud Ltd was established in 1989 and many of Mr & Mrs Muir's old owners returned to them. Since then the facility has gone from strength to strength under the management of, their youngest daughter, Grace Muir, who was appointed this position in 1998 and continues to build on its past successes. Having found many new homes and careers in the early years for horses in their care who had retired from Racing, North Farm Stud is now dedicating additional resources to its racehorse rehoming and retraining activities in support of the Racing Industry. Grace finally received Charitable Status for a charity called HEROS Charity (Homing Ex-Racehorses Organisation Scheme) in 2006. The charity is based at North Farm Stud and therefore is looked on as the “Home of HEROS”.

Happy happy birthdays and sponsoring days and sunny days!

☀️🐎 A huge thank you to Heros Charity for sponsoring today’s BS show 🐎☀️

Despite the extremely hot conditions, we enjoyed a fantastic day of jumping today with some fabulous rounds and great sport throughout the day. A huge thank you to all of our competitors, owners, supporters, and officials for helping the day run so smoothly while keeping horse welfare the top priority.

We would especially like to thank Grace Muir and Dulcie West for their generous sponsorship and support of today’s show. Your continued encouragement and contribution to the sport are hugely appreciated, and we are very grateful for your support.

A special congratulations also goes to Dulcie, who topped off the day in style by winning two classes! 🏆✨

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Heros Charity and North Farm Stud for sponsoring today’s event.

Heros Charity does incredible work supporting equine welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming horses in need, while also promoting education and responsible horse ownership within the industry. Super fantastic day today for Grace's Jimmy Joy at Rectory Farm Arena. 2 red ribbons for the 110 and 115 - don't mind if we do!

Well done pro rider Dulcie West who, despite the rain, carried on regardless and got the job DONE 💪

Never a day off 😂

Feeling the pressure of training for the charity race and working, Mickey took his quest to prove he is 'The Best West' to new levels this week by combining work and training...😂

A Pony of a lifetime 🌈

This week we said a very sad farewell to darling, lovely Savvy.

He came home to be Dulcie's pony in 2015 and lets just say he understood the assignment.

A hugely successful partnership their life together was colourful and full of joy and excitement. From pony club camps to pony racing they smashed through it all side by side making the most of every opportunity, winning in every discipline and even recieving a special award in dressage.

But it wasn't just about the success, it was about their friendship - the deep trust and respect they had for one another that comes from shared experiences and time spent together. So as Savvy went into retirement he stayed with Dulcie at North Farm and was cared for into old age with the same love and regard he always had been.

Savvy, you were one in a million, quite simply, a pony of a lifetime 🧡
