Why it is important to put a quick release collar on your cat.

Please ensure that if your cat does wear a collar that it has a quick release and not a buckle type fastener. This little cat managed to get her from leg through her collar and it began to cut into her flesh, leaving her with a very deep and painful wound. Due to their location these wounds are very lengthy and problematic so she has a long road ahead of her.

We are not taking any rehoming enquires until she is recovered so please don’t email about her.

There is a graphic photo of the wound in the comments.

Sadly this little one didn’t make it despite vets best efforts. The damage was too severe with multiple head fractures. 😢

Thankfully a kind person witnessed this and he was taken straight to Broadway vets in Wallasey who asseWirral Vetsd gave him pain relief, then contacted us to ask us to take him on. We have agreed and he has been transferred to our vets Wirral Vets in Upton. He has a broken jaw and other injuries but he is in good hands.

Our Story

We are a separate branch of the RSPCA and as such are reliant on the generosity of the public to keep our very busy branch going, helping local animals in the Wirral and Chester areas. We deal mostly with cats and last year in 2017 we rehomed almost 950 cats and for every cat we rehome there are many others waiting for our help. We can only continue helping these animals with your support.

If you would like to help us please visit https://www.justgiving.com/rspcawirralandchester

Or call in. We normally house over 100 cats and that is a lot of cat pouches so we are always grateful of cat food donations as well as blankets and towels (sorry we can’t take duvets and sheets)

We also have a charity shop based in our Animal Centre, and are always looking for good quality household goods to sell. (We can’t accept larger items as we don’t have space).
