Its nearly that time of year...yes we said it!

πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ

This year we have decided to do something a little different with our Christmas Tree!

We absolutely LOVE posting pictures of your pets when they have been to visit, if you've visited the practice you'll have seen many of them featured on our TV in our reception area, or on our Facebook and Instagram pages

We would love to have these pictures put into baubles on our Christmas Tree 🐾❀️ so that we can fill it with all their happy faces!

If you have a picture of your pet you would like us to hang on our tree please send them to us, you can post below or you can send them to our email address [email protected] 😊

Please help us fill our tree with love & paws

This cheeky lady is Pigeon 🀍

Not our usual patient but the team were very excited when this little lady arrived!

Pigeon came to visit us to have her Suprelorin Implant

Suprelorin can be used in male and female Ferrets to provide temporary infertility and prevent reproductive behaviours

It can also be used to manage a condition known as Hypoadrenocortisism (adrenal disease) which can be common amongst Ferrets. The implant can be used for 6 or 12 months and is given underneath the skin between the shoulder blades, similar to a microchip!

Pigeon was such a happy, friendly girl, the nurses took turns in giving her lots of cuddles and fuss whilst she was with us

She did require a very light sedation as she was just a little too wriggly for us! 🀣β™₯️

(and our lovely Jo of course)

Daphne underwent her spay procedure a couple of weeks ago, she really loves coming to see us for her vet visits so we made sure she got plenty of extra love and cuddles during her stay!

Our team are experts at ensuring your pets are treated as one of their own

Safe to say she was super excited to see us for her post op checks and we are still her favourites β™₯️β™₯️

Handsome Harvey 🐾🩡

Yes I am feeling very sorry myself as Dad spoilt my fun during my morning walk, all because I ate something that were not supposed to eat..how was I supposed to know? Im just a baby...

A little injection and a few "barfs" later the "tasty treat" was revealed!

The lovely nurse gave me lots of cuddles and kisses and kept telling me I'm a "good boy" but Dad's face looked a little confused πŸ˜• 🀣

I bet you cant guess what I ate?

It was a floofing big dog day last week!!!

Betsy underwent her spay procedure, she was such a brave girl, her pawrents were super worried, but Betsy secretly enjoys her vet visits and knows if she sits on the scales goodies come next! She looked very cute leaving with her recovery suit on β™₯️

Then Betsy number 2 came to say hello following her least favourite visit..we wont mention what it is as we don't want to embarrass her..but all was forgiven after a few treats πŸ˜‰

Handsome Marlow was the last of the floof balls! He came to have his health check and annual bloods with his Wellness plan, Dad was a little worried as Marlow gets VERY excited coming to the vets, but he was the pawfect patient and sat like a true champ for his blood sample πŸ’ͺπŸ†

Yesterday evening our team visited our friends over at Vets Now Hospital Manchester to update and refresh their knowledge on CPR 🩺

We had a great evening of learning and team building

This is so important as a team to keep up to date with the latest techniques required for CPR so that if we ever do need them in an emergency situation we are able to provide the best care possible β™₯️

As a team we can now look at improving and updating our current CPR protocols to make sure we are still in line with current guidelines

Thank you to Stevie Leigh and Siobanne at Vets Now for all their help in running and organising the training event for us..and for the tasty snacks after a busy day in clinic!

Amazing Albert 🩡🐾

Promise he isnt always that sad..and he does actually like coming to see us πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he's just an absolute pro of them "puppy dog eyes" to get exactly what he wants..toys!

Every visit Alberts Pawrents buy him a cuddly toy, so we thought it only right to pop one in his kennel with him whilst he woke from his anaesthetic 😊

Albert came in to have some x-rays and bloods yesterday and was such a well behaved gentleman

He did share the ward with a very noisy neighbour and the two of them made their own choir in the afternoon, keeping us all entertained!

Wishing Albert a speedy recovery πŸ₯°

Beautiful Bernardo ❀️🐾

This cheeky Chappy came in last week to have his Suprelorin implant..

Suprelorin is known as a chemical castration, without the permanent effect of a surgical castration. It suppresses testosterone and sperm production

The implant is available in 6-month or 12-month durations, and is inserted under the skin similar to a microchip and slowly releases the hormone, causing a reversible reduction in libido, testicle size, and fertility

It allows owners to see the effects of castration before choosing permanent surgical neutering and is especially helpful for nervous/anxious male dogs

There is generally no sedation involved!

Bernardo aced his implant and didn't even budge.. what a superstar 🩡

If you would like more information please contact the surgery and we would be happy to discuss this during a consultation
