😡 For the first time, possibly ever in my almost 20-year grooming career, I’m going to have a rant!

At the end of the day yesterday, after an exhausting week and in the blistering heat, I had to drive to a dog’s address to return them. This poor little old dog had been waiting at the salon for FOUR HOURS to be collected. (For context, this is a regular dog who's grooming appointment is never more than 1.5 hours)

When I arrived, the owner was relaxing at home, apparently “waiting for a phone call” — despite us making numerous attempts to contact them by telephone.

Had the owner not been at home, I would have been left with no option but to contact the dog warden and have this poor little dog taken into kennels. 😔

We are a small, busy grooming salon, and this situation was incredibly stressful for both us and, most importantly, the dog.

So, from next week, hopefully to avoid this ever happening again, I’ll be updating all client information and every client will need to provide an emergency contact number - someone you trust who can collect your dog if you’re unable to make it.

Of course, there’s flexibility. I’m not going to moan about 20 minutes here or half an hour there - life happens! ❤️ But I’m sure you’ll agree that FOUR HOURS is simply not acceptable.
