RESCHEDULED EBAY AUCTIONS

We were delighted to have been donated 2 CDs and 2 vinyl records of The Kinks ‘The Journey – Part 3’, by our ever-supportive patron Dave Davies and The Kinks.

‘Part 3’ covers their transformative RCA/Arista period spanning 1977 to 1984, a period seeing the band finally break America, leaving behind their iconic pop and experimental phases, and returning to a fresh and concise style of classic songwriting that draws on their own distinct British sense of self.’

The records have all been signed by both Ray & Dave Davies of The Kinks, following a visit to Folly from Ray’s grandson, Oliver Warren, at the end of last year. Oliver is an incredibly talented musician himself, () as well as being an animal lover, so it was a joy to show him our wildlife hospital and the work we do!

POV: mum walked into the room ❤️

These little babes are starlings! They came into us last week at only a few days old, and they’ve grown so quickly already. Blink and you miss it 🥹

This week things have really started to kick off, and I think it’s safe to say… the summer season is officially in full swing!

As things get busier, our phones are incredibly busy too. We’re answering calls as quickly as we can while also caring for all the animals coming through our doors.

If you do find a wildlife casualty, there’s no need to call first — you’re welcome to bring them straight to us during opening hours, 9am–6pm ❤️

Make a big impact for wildlife with a small monthly donation.

‘Friends of Folly’ is a lifeline for our charity and supports the work we do 365 days a year. As an animal charity, we are not eligible for any funding from the government or lottery and rely purely on the genoristy of public support. With costs going up every year, the gap between our monthly income and expenditure is becoming increasingly challenging.

Now is the time for us to grow our ‘Friends of Folly’ community and help secure our future.

Will you stand with us to help our wildlife year-round?

It’s easy to set up a monthly donation via our new fundraising platform and, by doing so, you’ll automatically become a ‘Friend of Folly’. ✨Every contribution makes a difference✨ and from as little as £5 a month, you’ll be helping us to continue providing specialist care and rehabilitation to wildlife for years to come.

Thank you ❤️

This tiny little patient is a juvenile mole 🖤

Found wandering along a path in a local park, they came into us for a check over.

While being assessed, we were amazed at the strength of their front paws — large, wide and perfectly designed for digging!

Despite their small size, moles are incredibly powerful little animals.

We believe this youngster was likely out searching for a new home after dispersing from their parents’ tunnel system. Young moles stay with their parents until around 10 weeks old before setting off alone in search of their own territory.

Sadly, this is quite a risky time for them, as they spend much more time above ground and are vulnerable to predators.

Even once they begin digging their own tunnels, they can still face challenges — tunnels may collapse if the ground is too dry, or flood if the soil becomes waterlogged.

After being checked by our vet, this little one was able to head back to the original location (but this time under some cover) with their finder 🖤

Moles are incredibly sensitive creatures and can be greatly affected by changes in humidity, airflow and vibrations, which makes them particularly difficult to rehabilitate in captivity. They also need to eat around 50% of their own body weight every single day!
