Signs of heat stroke in dogs; excessive panting, drooling, bright red or pale gums, vomiting, diarrhoea, and increased heart rate. More severe signs can include confusion, weakness, collapse & seizures.

It is important when trying to cool your dog down not to cover them in damp towels, these heat up quickly with body temperature and cause them to heat up quicker. Use cool running water over your pet and bring them straight to your vet. Keep the car as cool as possible for them.

If you suspect your dog has caught heat stroke contact us immediately on: 01875613593

With the warmer weather hitting us over the next few days it's important to keep our pets safe. Here are our tips.
๐Ÿพ Walk first thing in the morning or in the evening when it is cooler
๐Ÿพ Touch the ground to ensure it is not too hot for your dogs paws
๐Ÿพ Take water to drink everywhere you go
๐Ÿพ No leaving in the car at all during the heat of the day
๐Ÿพ Find shade to rest during the day

Exercising in temperatures over 20 degrees can be a risk to fit healthy dogs and the risk much higher for elderly, obese, flat-faced or large breed dogs.

If you suspect your dog has caught heat stroke contact us immediately on: 01875613593
or our emergency out of hours service, E-Vets on: 0131 662 1689

Enjoy the glorious weather safely

Annual vaccinations are important to protect your pet from harmful diseases.

Your petโ€™s health is important to us. If your petโ€™s vaccination protection has lapsed and a course of two vaccinations are needed to re-start immunity, weโ€™ll bring their vaccinations up to date for the price of a regular annual booster.

Speak to a member of our team to book an appointment or for more information.
