What is track livery to WLTL:

Track livery is designed to support horses and ponies with a wide range of physical and behavioural needs. This includes those managing conditions such as Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS), Laminitis, Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID/Cushing’s), arthritis, and PSSM.

It can also be especially beneficial for horses and ponies that find traditional stabling stressful — the box walkers, weavers, head shakers, or those prone to stress-induced ulcers. By living in a more natural environment, many horses become calmer, healthier, and more settled.

Track livery offers enrichment that many equines naturally seek: access to trees, hedgerows, water, movement, companionship, and the ability to make choices throughout the day. Social interaction is a huge part of equine mental wellbeing, and many horses thrive when they can build relationships, move freely, or choose time alone when they need it.

We’ve welcomed horses that arrived dragging owners, biting, kicking, or struggling to cope — and within a few months, transformed into calmer, happier, more content versions of themselves.

As owners, we can sometimes anthropomorphise our equines and assume they want what we would choose. In reality, most horses simply want the basics done well: friends, forage, and freedom — freedom to choose shelter, where to wander, when to socialise, when to rest, and simply the space to be themselves.

🌳we have a space available for 7 day Full livery package, ridden or retirement. Space available for the right member, please message with enquiries. Barefoot only, but happy to aid transition when in introduction paddock.

What Livery includes:

▫️Daily health checks
▫️Mud paste/field paste/fly sprays etc
▫️Weekly groom
▫️Rugging and rug changes if needed
▫️Bringing in and holding for vet, Denist, hoofcare professional.
▫️Giving medicine
▫️24/7 Track/equicentral paddocks in winter, with natural and man made shelters
▫️Water hole paddock open onto track
▫️Ad lib hay put out on track in nibble nets and hay stations
▫️1 track feed a day, own feed given
▫️Use of 20x40 rubber sand flood lit ménage, with poles and jumps
▫️Use of sick bay stable/hard standing area, isolation paddock
▫️Hay for up on yard/travelling hay-net
▫️Use of rug room
▫️Storage space for bits and bobs
▫️Toilet, sink and kettle. Seating area.
▫️Riding paddock in summer
▫️Two Equisals and 4 worm counts per year
▫️Direct access to bridleways
▫️trailer or box parking (additional cost)
▫️on site equine podiatrist, own hoof are provider very welcome.
▫️Track owner lives on site
▫️Children and dogs (on leads) welcome
▫️CCTV

We do have a mini Shetland and donkey track with a space available too.
