With the high temperatures due, it's important to remember to keep your dog safe in the heat! Look through these tips from Dogs Trust to help you do just that!

1) Avoid walking or doing activities indoors, or outdoors, at the hottest times of the day. So early morning or later in the evening is often best.

2) Always take plenty of water with you when out with your dog and make sure they have access to fresh water at home at all times.

3) Tarmac can get very hot in the sun so check it with your hand before letting your dog walk on it. Try the ‘seven-second test’; if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

4) If you need to take your dog out in the car, even if travelling a short distance, avoid travelling during the hottest times of the day and never leave your dog in a car on a warm day. Not even with the window open.

𝗔𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂!
🌤Take your dog out for their walk either first thing in the morning or in the evening when it’s cooler.
🐾 If walking on a pavement or the beach, place your hand on the surface and if you cannot keep it there longer than 5 seconds, it will be too hot for your dog, and they could severely burn their pads!
🔥 NEVER leave your dog in your car unattended. Even if you park in the shade with the windows cracked open, temperatures can soar inside. Did you know that if it’s 21°C outside, after 10 minutes the inside temperature will rise to 32°C and after 30 minutes it rises to 40°C!
☀️ Do not leave them in the garden for long periods. Even if there is shade, they can develop heatstroke quickly!
💧 Make sure your dog always has access to fresh, clean water.
🏠 Give them an option to retreat to somewhere cool.
❄️ Fill an enrichment toy, such as a Kong, with Trophy Premium Holistic Wet Food and pop in the freezer to make a cool treat.

Lovely news Suki has been rescued after staying with Animals in Distress - Torbay & Westcountry such a long time. Shes off to her new home with some Trophy Pet Foods - Torbay Lifestyle Sensitive and Shine wheat free dog food 🐾❤️🐾

After 448 days in rescue - beautiful Suki finally went to her wonderful forever home this morning! We are SO pleased and so happy for her! 🥰🥳
Suki doesn't know it yet but she has an amazing life ahead of her now, with her loving and caring owner 💕💕💕

Thank you so much to all our lovely supporters, thanks to you this is possible for Suki and hundreds of other animals each year 🙏
