๐ต Bluetongue โ important update
We wanted to make you aware that Bluetongue has now been detected in sheep in the south of Scotland.
We are sharing this information not to cause alarm, but to make sure everyone has time to consider their own situation and plan ahead.
There are currently stock availability issues with Bluetongue vaccine, so if you would like us to order vaccine for your stock, please let us know by 6pm on Thursday 13th August. This will allow us to assess requirements and place orders accordingly.
Whether vaccination is appropriate for your flock/herd will depend on a number of factors, including where you are moving animals to and from, planned sales or purchases, and your individual flock circumstances. If you would like to discuss the risks and whether vaccination is appropriate for you, please contact the practice and we can advise you on your specific situation.
The Scottish Government has also updated its guidance, including information on the current situation, vaccination and animal movements:

Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss your options.
