Sunshine in abundance meant some cancellations.
Others had early morning walks, home visits, shaded areas and water play.

All in a weeks work.


It'll be nice to get back to normal next week.

☀️⚠️ Keeping your pets safe in hot weather ⚠️☀️

We may enjoy the beautiful weather that's coming but, it's crucial to remember that your furry family members have no understanding that hot weather can be harmful.

Heatstroke can progress rapidly and, even with emergency veterinary treatment, can be fatal. Our vigilance is the best defense for

Here are some things we will do to help your dogs and cats stay cool during a heatwave:

For dogs:

🐶 Walk smart: we will try to stick to early morning walks and avoid the midday sun.

🐶 While out walking we find areas with plenty of shade, next to water where it's cooler.

🐶 We always check the pavement temperature with our hand.

🐶 If we are in any doubt we will skip the walk. A toilet break and indoor play will be offered, along with frozen/chilled treats (where permitted) and water play (if accessible).

🐶 Stay hydrated: we will always carry water and offer it frequently.

🐶 Never kept in a car: even with windows down, a car's temperature can soar in minutes.

For cats:

🐱 Provide shade: we will check to ensure your cat can retreat to a shaded area in the garden or indoors.

🐱 Add ice cubes to fresh water for a refreshing treat.

🐱 We will offer cool spaces by laying a damp towel or cool mat on the floor. If available, we will leave a fan on in a well ventilated room.

🐱 Check shelters: we would look inside sheds and greenhouses to ensure they haven't become stuck in a heat trap.
