❗️CLIENT NOTICE - PAYMENT TERMS❗️

From now on I will need payment for all appointments and saddles BEFORE I leave your premises.

My payment terms have always been due ON THE DAY, however this is being repeatedly ignored. I have several outstanding invoices despite chasing and issuing reminders.

I take payment by cash, BACS or card machine.

I ask myself in what other scenario would you receive a product or service and not pay for it there and then? I guess in days gone by, vets, farriers etc would not have electronic means to take payment, hence a later invoice being issued. I guess this is why some people think this is acceptable in the horsey industry. This is NOT the case anymore and whilst it maybe acceptable by some others businesses, it is NOT ACCEPTABLE or manageable for my business.

It is at considerable expense that I carry a card machine, it is there for your convenience to enable you to use a debit or credit card of your choice, if cash or BACS doesn’t suit.

I do not have the time to chase and keep track of payments. I also find it very soul destroying and disrespectful when prompt payment is not received.

Thank you to all the lovely clients who do pay as expected and don’t put me in an awkward position to chase and write posts like this.

Thank you.

Today started with the sh*tland being on the wrong side of the fence.. “Morning Mum 😇👋”, then a quickly discovered split in the trusty Hunter wellies 🙄. Despite the annoying start to the day, it’s been a lovely one.

Regular client check up and catch up, AM. Significant changes to said ponio, so flocking adjustments on both dressage and GP saddles. Amazing to see their progress since my last visit 👌.

Second appointment PM, new client. Lovely little pocket rocket pony that came from France, uncertain breeding but we are sure off some Arab blood, with a short back, well sprung ribs and large shoulders. Fitted with a second hand Ideal Impala 1450 jump saddle. The MAGIC happened, completely different pony with a different saddle. It doesn’t always happen straightaway, but when that WOW moment happens, it’s truly amazing 🤩. Exactly what I needed, to help reignite my passion for being our fitting again ♥️.

Must get back to taking more photos and social media updates!

Now taking on new clients:

⭐️ CLIENT UPDATE ⭐️

Firstly, thank you all for your kind words and support at what has been a very difficult time after the loss of our baby Ember.

I’ve had quite a few enquiries as to whether I am back at work. Whilst it pains me to say no to my lovely clients and horses, I am taking some maternity leave and time.

I plan to review the situation in the New Year. I want to be in a position to provide you all with the best service possible, do the best by your horses and give the business my full attention. I hope to be in a better position to do so in 2025.

Best wishes to all.

Perfectly said! Your saddle or saddle fitter is not a miracle worker.

Quite often it’s the horse or rider that is wonky, or even just the way the horse moves that makes things go wonky!

Physics plays a huge part also with the horses shape and conformation and how the saddle/rider will move.

Your saddle is not a miracle worker. If your horse is a barrel, and there is a bit of wonkiness somewhere (you or the horse) and your saddle slips to the side… your saddle isn’t necessarily to blame. Instead, get it checked and if it’s ok, work on making the horse less of a barrel shape… and straightening them (and yourself!) up so there is less unevenness.

If your horse has big wide ribs and an itty bitty shoulder… or a girth groove that’s inches in front of the girth line… maybe your saddle slips forward. That’s physics. Your girth will always pull into the narrowest place. Sometimes changing your girth or the girthing on the saddle can help.

If your horse has massive shoulders, and hoiks them up into the air when they jump… those massive shoulders can push the saddle back. That’s physics. Again sometimes girths and girthing can help. But saddles can’t defy the laws of physics.

If you or your horse is uneven then yes we can pad/flock/shim saddles to help. But… working on evening them up is much more beneficial.

Sometimes, in an attempt to hold a saddle still, to fight against the laws of physics (and often to keep the rider happy), we can end up clamping a saddle too much. Personally I would rather see a saddle shunt forward/to the side/backwards a little bit if the alternative is to clamp it too much the other way.
What do you think?

🤩 NEW SADDLE DAY FOR MONTE! 🤩

Kate and Monte came to us at Comeytrowe today for a saddle check, hoping that with a flocking adjustment his two existing Albion saddles would get the all clear. Unfortunately both saddles had seen better days, the fit was not good and both were asymmetrical.

Luckily we had the perfect solution, with again an older (but safe and sound!) Albion Lux dressage saddle in stock. The saddle fitted Kate and Monte perfectly, Kate noticed straight away how much better Monte was moving 😍.

A new (second hand) saddle doesn’t have to cost the earth, you may get lucky with an older one that fits! Most importantly we fully check every saddle we take on before accepting them as stock.

We have over 100 saddles in stock, most preloved, please get in contact now with any requirements you may have:

🤩 NEW SADDLE DAY FOR O.P! 🤩

A bespoke, made to measure polo saddle nonetheless! Suede seat with buffalo leather flaps. Made by Heritage Bespoke Saddlery. 😍

It’s so lovely to work with a polo pony and owners who take the horses comfort and way of going seriously. Polo ponies often get neglected when it comes to saddle fit and comfort.

Did you know we have two suppliers who make made to measure polo saddles?
