With temperatures rising across the UK this week, now is the time to make sure your rabbits are prepared for the heat.

Unlike us, rabbits can't sweat to cool themselves down, making them especially vulnerable during warm weather.

When temperatures rise:
☀️ Provide plenty of fresh water
☀️ Ensure access to shade at all times
☀️ Offer cool surfaces such as ceramic tiles or wrapped frozen water bottles
☀️ Keep indoor spaces well ventilated
☀️ Check your rabbits regularly for signs of heatstroke

Signs of heatstroke can include panting, lethargy, drooling, weakness, or collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, contact your vet immediately.

BSA:

BRING YOUR BUNNIES INDOORS FOR THE WEEK.

I have had a few calls about what to do in the coming heat wave.

You main priority is GET THEM INDOORS. Get them out of the heat!!
A bathroom, a d/s toilet with seat down obv. All bunny proofed, no cables, just tiles/ lino with a fleece on lots of water, frozen water bottles. cool pods anything to keep them comfortable for the next 4 days.

Just get them out of the heat, hutches, cottages, pens and fan wont cut it.

Heat stroke and dehydration is extreme and can lead to death.

HI All we were hoping to adopt a 6yr old grey female for Mal this week but its fallen thru.
Does anyone know of a spayed female in need of a home? Obv i would prefer younger but ill consider any age. Preferably vaccinated but I can get done if not.
We have some options but all are from breeders in 12-14 weeks from now and Mal is still very quiet, and not himself so i'd prefer to see if we can get him a new sister sooner rather than later if i can.
Mal has a stuffy for now and i may have helped a tiny bit, but he is still very much in, i wont say grief, but def out of sorts without his Ty.

Many thanks.

I dont know how many people will see this, but to those that do and know us well. Ty our grey lop rabbit girl you all see when you come and she was very much our ambassador for the business and our care. She died on Sunday to cancer. She died in the house with a mobile vet in attendance, but he wasnt needed in the end. She is now at peace. She leave Mal our little REW boy on his own and we are currently looking to find him a friend as most of you know how much he was inseparable from her.

For those bringing and collecting their pets over the coming few weeks, we both myself and Laurence as still very much coming to terms with her loss. She was 9 and a half years old and very much a huge presence in our house and ruled the roost and our lives very much revolved around her and her mischief.

We are still having spontaneous crying and weeping moments as you can image, so please dont be offended or shocked if i have a 'moment' when you are here. I took me 3 months to come to terms with the loss of Leon, its gonna A LOT longer to come to terms with very much our baby girl, our daughter passing.

We thank you for any condolences and thoughts, and I know its the price we pay to have their little hearts in our lives. Its still a raw gaping wound for the both of us. Her ashes are back home where she belongs.

Mal has some stuffed rabbits that closely resemble Ty to help him while we sort out another bun girl for him and 1 is very promising that im going to meet on Monday.

The photo was taken last year in her favorite position and Mal as his happiest smushed up against her.
