It’s not all frolicking in the fields and cuddling puppies, unfortunately!

Keeping everything clean, hygienic and tidy is an extremely important part of running a licensed dog boarding business.

Amongst the many policies and procedures we must adhere to is a very strict cleaning regime. This includes maintaining daily and weekly records to show that our hygiene and cleanliness routines have been completed properly.

Our cleaning and maintenance regime includes:

* All feeding utensils
* Beds and bedding
* Leads and harnesses
* Floors and walls
* Toys and games
* Lawns and patio areas
* Vehicles

We also have to use a very specific (and expensive!) disinfectant that is effective against a wide range of viruses and bacteria.

The cleaning policy, along with the detailed recording of cleaning tasks, is just one small part of the many policies, procedures and responsibilities involved in successfully maintaining licensed premises.

It may not be the most exciting part of the job, but it’s absolutely essential — because keeping the dogs in our care safe, healthy and happy is always my priority. 🐾
