The junior course is specially developed for young puppies between the ages of approximately 6 to 12 months and is suitable for all breeds of dogs it is a natural progression from puppy classes.

There are approximately 10 puppies per course.

Over the six weeks, you will learn
🦮 Touch training.
Touch training is a way of getting your puppy to be more engaged with you and it is done in a fun and motivational way. I will teach you how to use touch training to motivate your puppy. This will prove invaluable as you progress to getting your dog to walk on the lead without pulling.

🦮 Recall.
Getting your dog to be responsive to their name and to come back to you when you call them.

🦮 Follow me
I will show you how to get your puppy to stay close and look at you.This will help to teach your puppy not to pull on the lead and is also a foundation training technique for teaching your pup to come back to you when called.

🦮 Play with a toy
Playing with a toy with you is one of the great joys in the life of a puppy.
I will show you how to harness this natural drive and use it to teach the pup how to retrieve the toy and bring it back to you,
This will become a great way of exercising your pup and another way to engage with your puppy and get him keen to interact with you.

🦮 Prevent jumping up on people
This is an essential discipline to teach your puppy,
Jumping up is learned by the pup at an early age and many people will accept this behavior when the pup is little but when your pup is full-grown it becomes unacceptable.

🦮 Sit. Down. Stand
I will show you how to get your pup to sit to lie down and back into a sit, then stand.
🦮 Stay
Starting your puppy to understand the stay command, aiming for a 30-second stay.
🦮 Examine your pup.
Preparing them for visits to the vets or times when you need to look for an injury. I will teach you how to achieve this in a way that the puppies enjoy and will do willingly.

Relationship centered training skills for adolescent pups between the age of 6 to 12 months of age.

🐕 Bronze
Fundamental, effective and balanced obedience training course suitable for dogs 12 months and upward
Sunday 1.00pm

STARTING SATURDAY THE 4th July 2026

🐕 Silver
Educate and communicate with your dog at an advanced level, including hands free obedience and agility training.
Saturday at 2.00pm

🐕 Gold
For those that want to learn the high standard of off lead obedience

Please don’t walk your dog in this extreme heat 🥵 unless it’s early morning or late in the evening.
If it’s very hot in the morning as it is this morning, it’s far safer not to walk them.
I am sure you all know not to leave your dog in the car, they can die very quickly.

At home wet your dog to cool them off, put a cool mat or wet towel on the floor for them to lie on.
Do not put a wet towel over your dog as you will be trapping the heat in like a sauna.
Cool coats are good but you have to keep them wet.
Freeze carrots or apple slices for them to chew on. You can also freeze water with a dissolved stock cube and a little kibble in it. Put ice cubes in their water and make sure they drink plenty.
Keep safe, keep your dog safe. X

Recommended amount of exercise for puppies is 5 minutes per month of age twice a day.
This is why and something everyone should see.
This xray is of a 2 week old puppy.

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.
