Warm weather drills reminder -

⏰Walks may start earlier meaning pick up and drop off times are knocked out of whack
⏱️Walking time may be reduced
🏡Walks may be swapped to home visits (thankfully all my later bookings are solo/single household, so if I feel it’s got too warm, we can stick to the garden without me trying to work out how to be in two places at once)!
🌳Walks will be in the shade or where there is plenty of access to water for a dip 💦
👮🏻‍♀️Fun Police hat will be on making sure everyone stays chill
🍗Extra treats packed for extra ‘find it’ games and enrichment
🚐Our ride has air con, tinted glass and of course I alway carry fresh water
🏃🏻‍♀️I’m usually flying in and out at clients homes - if you want to have a chat, please don’t be offended if I say I’ll call you when I’ve finished and don’t stop 🥵

Lumi and I recently completed the last block of our ✨Scent Work✨ training with Jo from

I’m so happy with how far we have both come, I’ve learned loads and it really has been a case of TRusT the PrOceSs 🥸

The benefits for us (and we started just 4 weeks after Lumi moved to Yorkshire), have been -

✨Improved Team Work & Trust
✨Mental Stimulation

As a dog walker maybe I should be telling folk who want dogs that can settle at home, to just keep upping the walks, but often, especially if the outings are always high energy and raise arousal levels (chasing a ball, smashing about with other dogs), that can be counter productive. Swapping out adrenaline inducing activities, for ones that require some brain work and provide an outlet for our dogs natural behaviour, can really help when looking for that off switch at home.

A quick ten minutes practice when I get home from work is enough to then buy me a cuppa tea in peace afterwards!

✨✨A really simple way we can get our dogs to slow down and get sniffing on walks, is to scatter some treats in the grass and ask them to ‘find it’✨✨

Noodle’s last trip out with us today before he moves to the countryside …

Noodle slotted straight in from day one and has been the kind of dog I could take on any walk, with any group, and feel confident he would be happy tootling along never getting into mischief 💛

Noodle has also been brilliant at keeping me on schedule and on time with walks. If I’ve ever had the audacity to say more than hi or bye to clients at drop offs, he has made sure to sing me a song, remind me he was waiting and make sure I jump straight back in and get him dropped home promptly 😂

I will miss you Noodle and your lovely humans 💛
