Let's stop sharing these vague charts. There's never any links or cleae reason to the categories and they are not helpful for heat management in our dogs. I do understand they were made to be a helpful guideline, but they do tend to be used as a bit of a witch hunt on social media if people are deemed to not be following them.
Dogs cope with heat differently, there are no hard and fast rules unfortunately. A dog swimming in a river in a shaded woodland for exercise is very different to a thick coated Nordic breed being walked through the middle of town. Even then, some dogs simply suffer in the heat more than others. Rather than looking at other people's dogs and situations in the snippet you see them driving past, look at your dog and what they are telling you. Know the signs of heatstroke, check the ground temperature, keep them well hydrated. These are far more important than following the rules of a chart with an unknown author.
