Everyone say hello to Artie 🐾

This gorgeous Labradoodle has joined the Luna Care family… although today he’s rocking the legendary cone of shame after his procedure 😂💜

Despite the satellite dish attachment, Artie is still all smiles and tail wags. We’ll be making sure he gets lots of gentle care, cuddles and supervised recovery time while he heals up properly.

Welcome to the gang, Artie. Your dignity may be temporarily missing, but your cuteness definitely isn’t 🐶✨

With the temperatures across the UK getting so high right now, I’ve made the decision to cancel walks and replace them with pool parties, shaded garden time and enrichment instead ☀️🐾💦

This isn’t me being lazy, difficult, or trying to get out of work so I can enjoy the sun myself.

It’s because I’m not willing to risk a dog becoming seriously ill, or worse, dying in my care.

The RSPCA says dogs are 10 times more likely to suffer heat related illness from exercise in hot weather than from being left in cars. Studies on UK dogs have also shown heatstroke can be fatal in around 1 in 7 cases.

Dogs do not cope with heat the way humans do. Hot pavements, humidity and even normal exercise can quickly become dangerous during UK heatwaves.

Your dogs’ safety will always come before sticking to a normal walking routine.

Thank you for understanding and trusting me to make the safest decision for them 🩵

What people don’t see is the admin, route planning, fuel costs, insurance, qualifications, behaviour training, cleaning muddy paws, picking up poo, dealing with reactive dogs, driving between clients, weather conditions and the emotional exhaustion that comes with caring so deeply for animals that aren’t technically your own.

People think it’s “easy money” or “just a side hustle”, but for many of us this is a full time business with real responsibility. We are trusted with family pets every single day. We notice when something feels off medically, we manage dog dynamics safely, we walk in rain, snow and heat, and sometimes we end the day covered in mud, bruises and exhaustion.

I’ve had injuries, broken bones, scars and countless stressful moments doing this job. It can be physically demanding and mentally draining. Not everyone is suited to it.

But despite all of that, I genuinely love every single animal I care for like they’re my own ❤️🐾
