Please can everyone make sure that Tick,Flea and wormer treatments are up to date.

The crazy gang and friends were certainly ready for Woodland Woofs at Castle Croft this morning.
After several days of garden play only, they are certainly enjoying the cool breeze in the woodland and the water tub.
Star is at home enjoying some time to herself after her early morning walk with Archie.
Please, always remember, if I'm not prepared to do something with my own gang, I most certainly will never do it with your pooches. Safety and Welfare in the heat we have had was absolutely paramount. 🐾🐾

A little more advice.
Please please be very mindful of the forecasted heat these next couple of days.
I appreciate that not all dogs like to toilet in their own yard/garden so please keep to a very short wee and poo break then straight back in.
If you are unsure of the heat on paws, place the back of your hand on the pavement and hold for 7 seconds, if it's hot, then it's too hot for paws.
I have no issue stopping in my vehicle to advise people out with dogs and even offer them a lift and water.
Take care and PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOUR BEST FRIEND. 🐾🐾

Really good information. 🐾🐾

Really good information. 🐾🐾

‼️ Over 50% of dogs with severe heatstroke die. When treated early, 90% survive! ‼️

Dogs release heat by panting and by sweating through their paw pads and nose. If they are unable to cool themselves down enough, then their internal body temperature begins to rise, which is known as hyperthermia. Heat-related illness can be graded based on the severity of hyperthermia from mild to moderate and then severe, known as heat stress, heat exhaustion, and then heat stroke. It is vitally important to familiarise yourself with these signs.

Although all heat-related illnesses require immediate attention, heat stroke is the most severe of heat-related illnesses and even with intensive care can be fatal. The severity of heat-related illness should be determined by a combination of the dog’s temperature with other clinical signs as body temperature can change rapidly. Dog owners and professionals should be able to recognise early signs of heat-related illness so they can act quickly to prevent further progression.

The normal temperature range for a healthy dog is approximately 100.5-102.5°F (38-39°C), this is most accurately measured using a re**al thermometer.

I've posted this many times and will keep posting to make myself very clear.
‼️Heatstroke can and will Kill‼️
Today I've stopped two Joggers running with their dogs to explain the dangers.
Tomorrow and Saturday are set to be hotter so please have common sense around all animals.
Lots of shade, closed blinds/curtains and plenty of water.
