Don't forget to sign up to our BHS Stage 2 horse care course starting in October!

𝐁𝐇𝐒 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝟐 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 - 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.
Are you interested in taking the BHS Stage 2 horse care exam, and progress down the BHS education pathway? Or have you had your own horses for years, and looking to update your knowledge?

This 10 week course - Thursday nights is ideal for those with experience, and looking to expand their knowledge. It covers the BHS Stage 2 horse care syllabus in full, which can be found at: https://www.bhs.org.uk/bhs-professional-qualifications-and-careers/bhs-qualifications-and-stages/stage-2/stage-2-care-syllabus/
The course will cover the full syllabus, including theory and practical hands on sessions with BHSI Stable Manager (Stage 5 Performance centre manager) Jenna Whitaker.

There is no obligation to take the BHS exam unless you wish, but as an examination centre, we can offer in house exams on site. (Separate fee for exam).

This Sunday - Lessons with Katie!
We have a limited number of lessons with our instructor Katie this Sunday morning (24th August).

We are closed on Bank Holiday Monday, so this is the ideal time to fit in an extra ride or catch up for missed ones over the summer.

Katie is free:
10.30, 11.00 and 11.30

Lessons are 30min private lessons and £42.
New and existing customers welcome.

Are you wanting to give Howden Equestrian Centre a try?

As the summer is coming to a close we have a limited number of lessons available next week at our discount rate.

Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays before 4pm, our 30min privates are discounted from £42 to £30.

These are a great option for those who want to give us a go without any commitment to book further lessons.

We will be closed 2nd - 7th September for staff holidays, so next week is our only availability before schools open!

We are asking for help!
We are hoping to run an open day to raise funds for the BHS on Sunday 19th October.

Do any of our customers have any ideas or any skills they would like to volunteer?
Eg - Face painting, Cake baking, etc.

All funds raised will go directly to the BHS, so all volunteering will be gratefully received!

💜Rosie - 13hh Grey mare born 2013. Rosie came to us in 2021 after spending a few years turned away in a family home with no small rider. She is a cheeky character who always manages to get up to mischief!

Meet the team –
Todays meet the team horse & pony edition we have the biggest horse on the yard and his field buddy the newly crowned, oldest horse on the yard!
Please meet –
💜Rocco – 17.3hh Clydesdale gelding (boy) born 2017. Rocco is by far the largest horse on the yard (and probably most yards!). He is a real gentle giant and loves to say hi! He may be big, but hes a giant softy!
💜Snickers – 14.2hh Skewbald cob gelding (boy) born 2002. Snickers is on long term loan to the centre, from a very loving home in Hull. Snickers is put together a little wonky, but he is happy enough in life as he knows no different, and having a slightly wonky leg doesn’t stop him having fun and enjoying life!
After the sad loss of Peter last month Snickers has now taken over as the oldest horse on the yard. This is the first time we haven't had a horse in his 30s in many years!

𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 - Assessment lessons.

Take advantage of our summer holiday weekday discount offer - 30min private lesson discounted to £30 (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays before 4pm). £42 evenings and weekends.

We run our lessons a little differently, we pair up our riders into set groups with the same riders coming each time.
To pair up riders who have some riding experience, we ideally need an assessment lesson to advise which group would be the best fit.

We open for lessons everyday except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and offer weekday discounts before 4pm.

Meet the team –
Today’s meet the team are two of our more advanced cobs. They have both been with us a while and are for more experienced riders. Please meet:
💜Bear – 15hh Bay Mare (Girl) born 2011. Bear sounds like a boy but she is a beautiful girl. She is very kind and loves her work. We bought her from a hacking home back in 2017 and she has been a firm favourite since.
💜Indie – 15hh Piebald Mare (Girl) born 2012. Indie has been with us since 2016 and came to us a 4-year-old who needed re starting. Originally, she was to be sold on but Janice fell in love with her and she now does British Dressage Novice/Elementary with Janice (our head instructor) and the odd lesson in the school when appropriate as a dressage schoolmaster.
