Ruth Makes Jewellery Our unique handmade silver jewellery is inspired by landscape and wildlife, and our cats The silver is hallmarked at Birmingham Assay Office.

Ruth Makes Jewellery combines the designs of Ruth Sutcliffe and Jez Coates. Based in the West Yorkshire Pennine hills in UK, they create sterling silver jewellery inspired by local landscape, wildlife, pets, natural forms, mystical moongazing hares and wolves. Each unique piece is hand sawn from sterling silver sheet, sometimes incorporating copper and brass, and either polished to a rich lustre,

or oxidised to create atmospheric wearable art. We are happy to discuss ideas for commissions to create beautiful personal jewellery, perfect for special gifts.

Latest WIP, these pendants have been soldered which creates the colours. Just the jump rings to solder. Some will remain oxidised, the rest will be 'pickled' to remove the colour and then brushed. Then those requiring hallmarking will be sent off to Birmingham Assay.

Another top up which will be heading for the lovely in Halifax Piece Hall once I've got the admin done!! Lots of behind the scenes work goes into the process 😊
