We’re very sad to share the passing of Patrick, one of our much loved crab-eating macaques. Patrick was rescued from a testing laboratory in 2018, where he endured conditions that left him with lasting health problems and mobility issues including chronic arthritis.

Since arriving at Sealife Adventure, Patrick found a safe forever home where he was cared for daily by our team and was able to live out his later years in comfort and companionship. His story is a reminder of why rescues like this matter so much, and he will be deeply missed by both staff and visitors.

Have you spotted our animal of the week in our ocean tunnel yet! 🐠👀

This is our Bicolour Goatfish. Not only do they look fabulous, they are amazing at digging for dinner! Bicolour Goatfish are 30cm in size and have “whiskers” called Barbels, they are very sensitive but perfect for digging in the sand for food and even in the dark too.

Who knew fish could be such stylish sand detectives? 🕵️‍♂️

It was fantastic to welcome BBC Essex to our ocean tank today to celebrate the 50th anniversary of JAWS, a film that shaped how the world sees sharks.

To mark the occasion, we’ve launched our brand-new Shark & Ray Feeder Experience, where visitors can hand-feed our incredible zebra shark and rays up close 🦈✨

We’re using this milestone to help shift the narrative - showing these animals as majestic, misunderstood, and far from the mindless predators portrayed in the film.

Come see for yourself - book now on our website, and don’t forget, annual pass holders get 50% off! 💙
