We’re so excited to introduce Violet as one our Behind the Saddle Junior Ambassadors

We would like to welcome Violet to the behind the saddle team and we can’t wait for what the future holds for Violet and her equine career.

I’m sure you will all welcome her and we will support her as much as possible.

Here is a little bit about her

Violet is 10 and has a passion for Highland ponies. She had a successful dressage season last year with an friends pony and has just started riding her granddad's pony. In fact today she has been out to her first competition together and they came 1st! Violet is a very keen pony club member and is aiming to make it to her A test one day!

If you came to our Zoom presentation yesterday you will have heard me mention this ex centre member who started out leading beginners and picking up droppings just like you all do now!

Very excited to have been selected onto the British Eventing European 3* Cup Squad with Roly & Martin Wilcox’s TEMPLEPATRICK JET 🇬🇧🤩🥹🤯

The squad is a dynamic, development squad for 2026 ahead of the championships in 2027, so this year will be focussed on hard work and developing, and i’m grateful for this support as Jet & I continue to progress up the levels.

Huge thank you to everyone who makes this possible, you know who you are, but particularly Jet’s owners who believe in us both and who I couldn’t do any of this without.

Excited to head to the first training later this month 😊

Day 25
Isa
Advent calendars don't usually have 25 days but I couldn't let it go without giving a nod to Isa, who is the lead horse on many of my rides. He will genuinely go anywhere, uphill and down dale, through busy traffic and over scary and noisy bridges. He is wonderful at gates, and quite speedy for one who looks like an overgrown Welsh Cob!
He likes - exploring new routes, staying over in new places, being in front.
He dislikes - being left behind!! Standing still when I want to take a photo or just talk about some point of interest. Living in a stable - he prefers to live out.

Day 23
Ice
Some of you will know Ice as a lesson horse and some as a ride horse!
He sometimes gets a bit anxious about being crowded by the others so he has been used quite a bit this season as an es**rt horse, doing the two of our longest day rides this year at 19 miles (Malham Tarn and Cove) and 22 miles (day two of our six dales trail), and was as cheerful and forward going at the end as the beginning!

He likes - exploring the countryside, being at the front and jumping.
He dislikes - being behind anyone else!

Millie
Millie is Mrs Reliable! She gives confidence to the most terrified rider and she is sure footed and always calm. Nothing fazes her! She has taught lots of riders to go off the lead rein and to canter in her school pony role but she is another pony who has taken an easier path now and she mainly treks.
She likes - nipping into the tackroom when we bring ponies in, looking after small children.
She dislikes - having her girth tightened, and other ponies coming too close behind her.
