Let's talk about Salt
How we can help horses with summer allergies and more

Respiratory Relief
Summer allergens like pollen and dust can exacerbate respiratory issues in horses.

Salt therapy helps:
• Loosen and expel mucus from the airways.
• Reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract.
• Eliminate airborne allergens and pathogens.
This can alleviate symptoms such as coughing, nasal discharge, and labored breathing.

Skin Soothing Effects
Horses often suffer from skin conditions like sweet itch during summer. Salt therapy can:
• Reduce itching and inflammation.
• Promote healing of irritated skin.
• Combat bacterial and fungal
By settling on the horse's coat, salt particles provide direct relief to affected area.
Enhanced Well-being
• Strengthening the immune system.
• Improving respiratory efficiency and stamina.
• Reducing stress and promoting relaxation

Treatment Recommendations
The frequency of salt therapy sessions can vary based on individual needs:
• For prevention: 1–2 sessions per week.
• For active symptoms: An initial series of 3–5 sessions, followed by maintenance treatments.
Always consult with a veterinarian to tailor the therapy to your horse's specific conditions.

💧Let's talk about water treadmill sessions helping horses recover from tendon injuries 💧

Water treadmills are commonly used in equine rehabilitation, especially for tendon injuries, because they provide controlled, low-impact exercise with therapeutic benefits. Here's how they help horses recover from tendon injuries:

1. Reduced Weight-Bearing Stress
• Buoyancy of water reduces the horse's body weight, which means less strain on injured tendons.
• This allows the horse to move and exercise safely without overloading the healing tissue.

2. Controlled and Symmetrical Movement
• Water treadmills encourage even, controlled gaits, which is important for:
• Preventing compensatory movement patterns.
• Promoting balanced muscle development and correct limb use during recovery.

3. Increased Range of Motion
• The resistance of water promotes a greater range of joint motion, especially in the limbs.
• This gently mobilizes the tendon and associated structures, which supports proper collagen fiber alignment during healing.

4. Enhanced Circulation and Healing
• Hydrotherapy improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which:
• Speeds up the delivery of nutrients to the injured tendon.
• Helps remove inflammatory waste products.

5. Progressive Rehabilitation
• The treadmill can be adjusted for:
• Water height (to control buoyancy and resistance).
• Speed and duration (to gradually increase workload).
• This allows customization to the horse’s specific injury and stage of healing.

6. Muscle Maintenance During Rest
• When stable rest is necessary for tendon healing, horses often lose muscle tone.
• Water treadmill use helps maintain strength and conditioning without risking reinjury after stable rest.

Summary:
Water treadmills allow horses with tendon injuries to exercise in a safe, controlled, and supportive environment, reducing stress on healing tissue while promoting mobility, circulation, and muscle maintenance. This makes them a valuable tool in equine rehab programs.

💧 Improving your horses overall strength and stride💧

Water treadmill can significantly improve your horse's stride by enhancing their strength, flexibility, and balance—without the high impact of traditional ground work. Here's how it works and what you might notice in the slow-motion video:

🐎 How the Water Treadmill Improves Stride
Buoyancy Reduces Impact
The water supports the horse’s body weight, reducing stress on joints and tendons. This allows the horse to move more freely and extend its stride without the fear of pain or injury.

Increased Resistance = Stronger Muscles
Walking through water creates resistance, especially in the forelimbs and hindlimbs, which helps build core strength and muscle tone—key for a longer, more powerful stride.

Encourages Flexion and Extension
Horses naturally lift their legs higher and reach further forward and back in water to counter the resistance. This results in increased range of motion, promoting a longer and more balanced stride.

Engages the Core and Topline
The treadmill forces the horse to engage its abdominals and back muscles, improving posture and self-carriage, which directly translates into better stride mechanics on land.

🎥 What You’ll See in the Slomo Video
Increased limb elevation: Watch how each hoof lifts higher than it would on dry land.

We’re really sorry to say that, due to rising costs (including the recent increase in National Insurance), we’ll need to adjust the prices of some of our sessions from 1st May 2025.

We’ve held off for as long as we can, and we truly appreciate your continued support — it means the world to our small, family-run team.

The good news? There’s still time to book your sessions at the current rate before the end of April. Water treadmill, salt therapy and livery will see a small increase, but all other services will remain the same.

Thank you so much for sticking with us — we’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.
