So the clocks have changed I've got a lot busier with people preparing for competitions I've done some cross-country lessons at Wakes end and westwick recently and just feel like everybody's gearing up to get out and about this summer.
A few new clients to welcome and a couple of ones that have come around again from the past , which is always lovely .
So that's me and I'm feeling very excited for the teaching and riding that I have on my books at the moment πŸ‡πŸ₯°πŸ‡πŸ₯°

Feeling very lucky to have been to Millie McBride clinic today and also last Saturday on my client/friends horses.
I don't get a lot of opportunity to train as I decided to retire Sirius so it's really nice to spend some time on myself again πŸ₯°πŸ‡

I've tried very hard to keep going with this weather.
I've had a few quiet days and a few busy days-
Wednesday was quite beautiful β˜€οΈ Thursday afternoon was not!!!! β˜”οΈ
I was supposed to transport a horse to her new home in Devon today, however,
we decided against it .
The wind was pretty bad at 6 am I didn't think worth the risk.
We'll go tomorrow- better to be safe than sorry .

I'm very hopeful that things will be back to normal on Monday and we can get some decent work into our horses and ponies .

Thanks to everyone for your patience , understanding and being safe ☺️ πŸ™πŸ»

Even the rain can't dampen my spirits today as I worked with a lovely thoroughbred this morning and his owner.
She has been struggling to get back on as he's come back into work and needs reminding how to manage himself .
Mounting is one of those potentially dangerous times where you can feel disconnected from the horse as one leg in the stirrup , one leg in midair and as we get older we don't move quite as quickly and easily in our bodies.
Therefore it's all the more important to have a horse that will stand at the block relaxed, calm and wait to be asked to walk away .
We did a little bit of ground work and some breathing exercises, with a positive reintroduction to the block so I could get the owner back in the saddle and riding away very happily .
We will revisit tomorrow and try to cement some of today's work and continue helping him relax , but I'm delighted to get owner and horse back in the saddle standing confidently at the block πŸ₯°

Then onto a new little horse who has lost his confidence as his arena is quite near a busy road , the cars go past quite quickly and unexpectedly .
Today was my third session and we got lots and lots of head lowering, bending and softening in the body , improving his connection and his understanding of himself and what to do in these situations when he feels a little tense and scared.
It was all about teaching him to manage his fears and understand his body.

My equidry is worth its weight in gold !!!
