Hello May 🐾🌸

A new month is here and there’s lots to come… but first, what a busy April it’s been!

We’ve had a full month of training clients, from puppies to gundogs 🐶
Plenty of walking adventures 🐾
And lots of lovely sleepover dogs too as well as a sneaky break myself 💙

Now we’re heading into May…

This is Sooty 🐾

My first dog… and the reason Tails Trails even exists.

We did everything together – training classes, fun tricks, learning as we went – and somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with the process. Not just having a dog, but really understanding them.

Sooty will be 11 next month, and he’s been there right from the very beginning of this journey 💙

Before dog training, I spent years as a swimming instructor – and I absolutely loved it. Teaching, helping people grow in confidence, seeing those little “lightbulb” moments… it never felt like work. Alongside that, I was dog walking, but when I had to stop swimming due to medical reasons, I really felt that loss of connection and teaching.

Dog training naturally filled that gap. It gave me that same joy again – working with people, building confidence, and helping them understand something that once felt overwhelming.

And that’s how Tails Trails grew… from one dog, a lot of learning, and a genuine love for helping both ends of the lead 🐶✨

Sooty started it all – and he’s still teaching me now. 💙

From our adventure walkies to plenty of sleepovers, it’s been such a pleasure over the years. You’ve truly been a big part of this Trails Trails journey so far.

Thank you for being part of the family for the last 9 years - both you and your hoomans! Here’s to many more adventures, muddy paws, and happy tails.

Welcome to our training paddock 🐾

Acres of rolling grass, space to learn, and plenty of room to have fun!

We’re lucky to have two areas:
🌿 A main paddock for training classes
🌾 A more natural, wild space — perfect for “find it” games and (most importantly!) our fun gundog sessions

The secure space also makes it ideal for relaxed, sniffy adventures where dogs can explore, switch off, and just enjoy being dogs 🐶

It’s a space designed for learning, confidence building, and a lot of tail wags along the way 🐾

Does your dog have a favourite toy? 🧸

I picked up this soft toy panda from a few months ago… and it quickly became a firm favourite!

So much so, I had to go back and buy another one 🤣

There’s just something about that one toy they always choose - whether it’s for carrying around, cuddling, or completely destroying (luckily not this panda!)

I’d love to know… what’s your dog’s favourite toy? 🐶

Come behind the scenes with me and see how the dogs travel for their walks… 🐾

All dogs are safely crated in the van (the bright blue van!). It’s something I take seriously, not just for safety on the road, but to help keep everyone calm and comfortable too.

Because let’s be honest… could you imagine them all loose having a “party”?
Not ideal for their stress levels or my driving! 🤣

Crating isn’t about restriction - it’s about creating a safe, secure environment where dogs can switch off between walks and travel safely.

How else can your dog travel safely when with you?

✔️ Crash-tested harness + seatbelt
✔️ Boot space with a dog guard
✔️ Travel crates or carriers
✔️ Car seats for smaller dogs

The most important thing?
👉 Your dog is safely restrained and comfortable.

Calm dogs, safe journeys, and peace of mind for you 💙🐶

I’ll go first...
This is Jenson… living his absolute best life in a wheelbarrow at the training paddock.

Yep - that’s a wheelbarrow full of rainwater.
And yes - he treats it like his own personal paddling pool ‍😂

The only reason it’s still there?
Because this monkey LOVES launching himself in and splashing around like it’s a spa day.

I did empty and move it once…Let’s just say he was definitely sulking with me after that!
