I went out without Poppy the other day (I know, how dare I) and visited a friend who also has a dog. This was Poppy when I got back...she spent a good few minutes sniffing all round my legs where I had been sitting with and stroking my friend's dog.

What was she doing you may ask? Well, as you know, dogs noses are amazing! Similar to having a conversation with a family member when you get home, she was interested to know all the information of where I had been and who I was with. Allowing her to do this is so good for her and similar to sniffing out on a walk, once she had all the info she needed she happily went about the rest of her afternoon 😊

Not all walks are equal....some are to train, some are to socialise and play and some are freestyled but all walks are for connection. Be that with other dogs, the environment or the walker.

Poppys weekday morning walks have purpose: for her to stretch her legs, toilet and engage with whatever however she wants. Its about her wants and needs and I let her lead because having choice is what its all about

Session 2 of 3 with Max this week where we were doing some crate training and impulse control. Having a puppy with a young family is both exciting and full on and all 3 human members of Max's family are helping with his training so he can make good choices and theyre also learning to problem solve so they can understand why a behaviour is or isnt happening and can then change their approach to it so Max can succeed! A great big well done all round 👏

A great way to work out what your dogs fave treats are! Pop some food in the holes, grab your camera, start recording and see what they pick first!

Daisy did so well with her recall, loose lead walking and generally enjoying being with her favourite people tonight.

And of course I had to allow Poppy smelll who I'd been with whilst I was out 🐶
