Ruby need a rural home.

RESERVED - Ruby is a small 3yr old cocker spaniel (8.8kg), she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated. She has only got one eye that was surgically removed before finding her way to us, she has also had a scale and polish on her teeth. She has a clean bill of health and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Ruby came to us from the pound after being picked up as a stray and not claimed. She really is the sweetest girl but was petrified in the kennels and its clear that she hasn't been well socialised in the big wide world as she is a nervous girl and it just takes her some time to trust and get to know people.
Being in foster with us around lots of other dogs has really help Ruby find her feet and she has grown in confidence a lot since being here but new people, places and experiences can be scary for her and she can bark nervously when overwhelmed. There is zero malice with this tiny girl but she will need a patient but confident new home who can carry on her journey at the correct pace and not try and pressure her with too much too soon.
We are 100% seeking a home with another lively playful young dog for Ruby, she would love another young spaniel type to play with as she LOVES to run and play chase but we will consider other suitable matches as long as your dog is friendly, playful and neutered. She can happily live with dog savvy cats and isn't bothered by our equines or livestock. Ruby can live with gentle, quieter children aged 7yrs and over (younger visiting children would be absolutely fine too).
Ruby is strong on the lead for a small dog so will need someone fit and strong enough to hold her and also who can take her for great long walks, she has lots of energy. She is very loving in the home and loves to be near you and follow you around but she has been good being left for a few hours with other dogs for company and sleeps downstairs quietly at night. She travels ok in the car but is nervous about getting in.
She will need a home with a nice secure garden and a house located in a rural or quieter area, busy towns and roads would scare here.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, South Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £300
If you have the experience and patience and are ready to proceed with an adoption (we cant hold onto dogs for holidays etc) then please email us telling us all about your home offer in DETAIL, including your FULL ADDRESS and CONTACT NUMBER to [email protected]
