Yesterday we had to say goodbye to one of Dora's OG's... our beloved Jabba. 💔
For almost 9 years, Jabba has been part of the Dora's family. He was the second dog we ever took on. He didn't just grow old with the daycare – he helped shape it. As I learned, made mistakes, and grew over the years, Jabba was there through it all.
He truly was one of a kind. A gentle giant with the biggest personality. Every dog adored him, especially the Sausage gang, who treated him like their own personal hot water bottle. He never seemed to mind, even when he gave us the biggest eye roll's 🙄
There was always something with Jabba. We used to joke that he was the dog equivalent of that one kid at school who was permanently in a plaster or on crutches! But no matter what life threw at him, he'd somehow bounce back with that same stubborn spirit.
Oh, and speaking of stubborn. He was the king of being stubborn. If another dog dared to sit in his chair, he'd simply try to sit on them instead. The number of rescue dives we made to save dogs from being squashed was honestly ridiculous! If Jabba wanted something, everyone knew about it too. He'd follow us around the room with his famous little "woo woos" until he got exactly what he wanted.
He made customers laugh because Jabba would be asleep in exactly the same spot when they dropped their dogs off... and, without fail, he'd still be there when they came back to collect them. The definition of a couch potato.
But don't let that fool you... when he decided to move, he could shift! Years ago, him and his best mate Ronnie used to have to go upstairs together because the other dogs simply didn't stand a chance when those two lumps got the zoomies 🤣 They were best friends from day one. Even after Ronnie lost his sight, every visit to Dora's started with him sniffing out Jabba to say hello ❤️
Jabba leaves behind so many memories, so many laughs, and a space that simply can't be filled. Dora's won't quite feel the same without him. I think everyone would agree on that.
And every time we look up at those slobber marks on the ceiling, we'll smile... because a little piece of Jabba will always be here with us.
Run free, beautiful boy. Thank you for almost nine unforgettable years with us. You'll always be part of the Dora's family. ❤️🌈🐾
