We highly recommend booking a physiotherapy appointment for any dog suffering from musculoskeletal issues! By incorporating a multi-modal approach, combining hydrotherapy and physio, alongside veterinary care and pain management (and possibly other complementary therapies), you give your dog the best opportunity to recover whilst improving their general condition and wellbeing 🩵 🐾

❌ MYTH: "My dog is just slowing down because of old age-they don't need prescription pain relief."

✅ FACT: "Old age" is an age bracket, not a medical condition. When a senior dog sleeps more, hesitates at the stairs, takes longer to get out of bed, or lags behind on walks, they are showing behavioural adaptations to joint discomfort, not simply "getting old."

Dismissing these mobility and mood shifts as inevitable ageing allows chronic joint inflammation to progress unmanaged.

When dog guardians work with their veterinary team to introduce targeted pain management, they are often amazed to see their dog regain playfulness, curiosity, and zest for life. Pain relief isn't just about extending longevity; it's about protecting daily quality of life.

Introducing yet another handsome boy named Teddy! 🐾💙

Lovely Teddy joined us very recently after sadly being diagnosed with elbow dysplasia at age 5 years.
Teddy was a little nervous and reluctant to enter the pool on his first session, but after just a couple of sessions (and a bit of persuasion with cheese! 😂) he has soon grown in confidence and has learnt what a great time he can have swimming and playing with toys! 💦

Hydrotherapy is helping manage Teddy's condition by....
🐶 Easing pain and inflammation
🐶 Building muscle mass to support his elbow joints
🐶 Improving his mobility and gait
🐶 Increasing his stamina and fitness

As our staff are fully qualified in Level 4 Canine Clinical Hydrotherapy and are also registered with NARCH (The National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists), many pet insurance companies will cover the cost of your dog’s rehabilitation swims with us. If your dog has a medical condition that would benefit from regular sessions in our pool and they are insured, we recommend checking your policy details or giving your insurance company a quick call to confirm your pet is covered for hydrotherapy 💙🐕🌊

We're sure a lot of you will remember lovely little Frankie posing in her cute pink dressing gown post-swim session.... Her family have kindly shared these amazing photos of her enjoying her first wild swim!! What a brave girl she has now become... this truly shows how much her confidence around water has grown! Frankie we are so proud of you... well done sweet girl!
