Well, the mixbag of weather hasnt stopped this lot from having fun!!๐ Bonnie had her first walk and she did really well, a little nervous but with a consistant routine she is going to settle in lovely and make some good friends. Little pepper also had her first walk, again she is going to be a lovely little addition to the pack ๐บ๐ฉถ
โผ๏ธThe dreaded grass seedโผ๏ธ
So i do check over all pooches after each walk.... focusing on paw pads and ears. However if you do see your dog suddenly licking or chewing at the paw or see any red bumps/swelling between the toes then unfortunately it may be a pesky little grass seed. You can gentle brush or comb the seeds out if they are on the surface however if it has pierced the skin and it is embedded then please don't try and tweezer it out yourself as this may cause the seed to break apart or burrow even deeper, causing more pain and discomfort for your fur baby. At this point it would be worth calling your vet and telling them you suspect a grass seed .
Hibiscrub can be used to sooth and ease the irritation short-term to hopefully prevent licking and causing more infection until you can get to the vet.
I just wanted to mention the above as they are everywhere at the moment ๐ I will avoid as and where I can but I have not quite mastered how to speak dog yet so there's no telling this lot๐คช๐๐ฅฐ
