What a day for so many reasons. It’s certainly been busy and very warm.

Jet the labradoodle had the full world, washed, dried, groomed and his teeth cleaned. As usual he was a very good boy and loved his morning of pampering.

Albert the patterpoo had his visit after settling into his forever home. Lovely to see him and looking forward to having him back again soon.

Charlie the Labrador was a little timid but was very chilled on the table. The amount of hair I removed during his de-shed was incredible! I hope he felt a bit cooler after.

Bonnie the 8 month old baby was last up. Who wouldn’t love a puppy groom with an adorable little spaniel. A little nervous to begin with but was very brave. I was that much in love with her I forgot to take a photo, apologies folks you will have to wait to see her until next time.

Hope none of you are too uncomfortable in this heat.

Not sure which one of you lovely people turned on the sunshine this week in Treeton but thank you. It’s been another glorious day spent with your wonderful furry friends.

Today we’ve had Dexter the spaniel who was giddy on the floor but fantastic on the table.

Millie the Cockerpoo who had her usual short cut, perfect to make her feel more comfortable in this sunshine.

Ruby the spaniel who was a little nervous but we became best friends again; I think she forgot I’m actually a nice person.

Dora the cavapoo was also a little timid when she first got on the table but by the end for her groom she was like a pro and she left looking even more beautiful than she arrived, which would be worrying if she didn’t I suppose.

I was going to say it’s been a quiet day at the Furry Pit Stop but then I started writing this post and realised it absolutely wasn’t, no wonder time goes in a flash!

Joining me in the salon today we’ve had:

Betsy the Staffy for a wash, dry and de-shed. First time for a full groom and she behaved remarkably. So much fur and I do think staffies are one of the most loving breeds of dogs.

Stanley the 5 month old show cocker came back for a puppy groom after boarding with us on Tuesday; he clearly can’t keep away from us 🤣. Hyper off the table but totally chill once on it. Very happy when his favourite person (my daughter Cadence) came to distraction him whilst I trimmed his paw pads and nails, and the even more excited when his other favourite person (his owner) came to collect him.

It was an unexpected wash and dry for our day care Lulu who managed to find a nasty smell when out for a walk (although she clearly thought it wasn’t nasty). She was as hyper in the bath as she is in our house.

Mable the double doodle back for her usual wash, dry and cut. Such a lovely girl and it’s a good job she’s patient as there’s a lot of hair to cut.

We then had a meet and greet with Pip who’s looking for a holiday home and he did indeed make himself at home very quickly which is always nice to see and it was lovely talking to his owner.

Finally we have a trail night “sleepover” for Dexter who’s one of my regular customers in the salon. I don’t usually post about dogs staying here until they leave, but as I write this he’s keeping my legs lovely and warm and is showing no appetite to move; bless him.

Anyways, that’s all for tonight, and I definitely think it’s enough for one day.

Another great day meeting some lovely furry friends who’ve all done a fantastic job of tiring me out. Definitely ready for another bank holiday weekend.

Up first we had siblings Poppy the deaf staffy cross, along with pixie and Star the chihuahuas. They all had a wash, dry, trim and de-shed. Looked after each other very well just as any good sibling would.

Trevor the s***z had his usual wash, dry and cut, as always he was well behaved, apart from refusing to let me trim his nails, fortunately his owner came back with reinforcements.

Sooty the handsome staffy popped in for his nails trimmed and finally Ziggy the toy poodle had a wash, dry and a poodle cut. He stood very patiently on the table and was ultra-excited to see his humans come and collect him. It was like a little happy family reunion.

We also had the pleasure of Stanley the puppy show cocker boarding with us last night. He took an incredible liking to my eldest daughter and cried whenever she left the room. Incidentally he also has some of the sharpest puppy needle teeth we’ve ever come across. Can’t wait to have him back again soon.

Also, just for fun here’s a picture of one of our cats (Mcgonagall) who decided the best place to hide from Stanley was in my youngest daughter’s school bag. Adding this for no other reason other than it’s cute. Also not sure she realised we could all still see her.

Well folks, I hope you’ve all enjoyed your extra long bank holiday Easter weekend and that you can no longer face the sight of chocolate. Well most of that is true here at the Furry Put Stop, but who would ever get bored of chocolate!

We’ve had fun with some gorgeous little pooches staying with us, including Frankie the wise old spaniel, Elsie the friendly bernese bear and Boris the brainless cockerpoo all come to celebrate with us. We’ve also had a few walks with Vlad the doberman.

Roll on Mayday!

Is anyone else already getting that Friday feeling? Definitely looking forward to the Easter break and spending even more time looking after your gorgeous furry fry.

Today we’ve had Sam the German shepherd cross in for a De-shed. So much fur came off him! Howled all the way through drying, we both had an excellent time.

Leia the 18 month old Labrador. First visit to me and in fact her first ever groom. She was a typical lab and was a very good girl; enjoyed getting to know each other.

Archie the s***zu was last to visit, he hates been groomed (I know hate is a very strong word!), I think he liked me a little bit more as this was his 2nd visit and didn’t try to eat my hand quite as much.

Hope you are all looking forward to a well deserved rest as much as I am. It’s an added celebration as very soon we will be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the Furry Pit Stop. Looking forward to counting how many of your wonderful pets have been into my salon.

In day care we’ve had the pleasure of our little friend Tilly for the 2nd time this week. Thinking about starting a Tilly Blog to document her visits and all the new ways she finds to cause mischief, but of course we wouldn’t want her any other way.

It was a fun 24 hours with George the miniature Australian labradoodle, mainly because my teenage son is also called George. We did heads or tails as to who got to use the name George. George the dog won, meaning George the human had to use the extended noun “human George” or on occasions just “human” for short.

Molly the Cockerpoo had a wash and dry after her holibobs at “In the dog house”. She’s going home smelling lovely.

Rocky the golden retriever, wash, dry and trim. Not a big fan of the drier around his face but cool as a cucumber apart from that.

It was a full groom for Archie the double doodle, as always he was a very happy chap with lots of energy and always willing to be bribed with a treat.

Regular visitor Winnie the French bulldog knew the routine off by heart during his wash and dry.

It was a sad day at the Furry Pit Stop as we waved bye to Miley the very loving staffy, and her fluffy sister Daisy went home as did Max the little (another not) golden retriever all went home to their favourite humans.

Oscar the miniature schnauzer had a teeth clean, he was extremely well behaved

We took it slow and steady with Brew the Cockerpoo after his recent illness, fortunately his best mate Matt was on hand for assistance when needed.

Millie the cavajack was also booked in for a teeth clean however absolutely hated it (you can’t win them all) so instead she had a deshed which she much preferred and left an unbelievable amount of fur behind.

Cassie Lhasa apso x bichon looked much cooler having had her summer cut.

Finally Tilly the beautiful spaniel who was also very well behaved, had an aromatherapy bath with her special shampoo but had to go home wet as I wasn’t allowed to dry her (always read the instructions).

It’s been an exciting day with lots of your puppies running about tiring each other (and us) out in day care.

Nora the miniature labradoodle was first to visit my grooming salon, she sang to me while being dried so I joined in, not sure what the words should have been but the tune was delightful.

Ellie the dachshund had a lovely relaxing nail trim; not. Bless her she really wanted to grow them longer and didn’t appreciate being ganged up on by me and her owner, but we think they still look cute.

Our mate Boris squeezed himself in for a groom although he was a bit disappointed when we walked past his holiday home where all the other doggies were and up to the grooming salon, he still enjoyed a nice long soak in the bath.

Bella the labradoodle and Mable the westie both had a wash and dry after their holibobs.

Rosie the spaniel was last up. She was very giddy but well behaved on the table and did the cutest dances whenever I had a visitor, which was frequent as my family all had to come and see the dance; thanks guys!!

Hope you are all enjoying this amazing sunshine and wishing you a fun weekend.

Teddy the cocker spaniel came to play today whilst his favourite humans were at work. He had a fun day meeting new friends and sunny walks.

Tilly the miniature dachshund has joined us for a few days, what she lacks in size she makes up for in personality, especially her stubbornness to not walk if there’s a lead involved.

In the grooming salon Archie the King Charles spaniel had his usual groom whilst looking lovingly into my eyes.

Storm the husky had a wash, dry and de-shed, it was his first visit and left much of his winter coat behind. Not a big fan of getting in the bath but very well behaved and gorgeous eyes.

Chewie the pug x frenchie was last in, he’s only 8 month old and also had his first visit. Very giddy and lots of fun.

Big boy Bear the toy poodle came back today but not for his regular groom, think he wanted to spice things up for the summer.

Then it was on to Millie and Stanley, a fine pair of spaniel siblings who clearly meant the world to each other, it was their first time coming to me but they seemed to enjoy a bit of time being pampered. I didn’t sing to them as it would be nice to see them again.

Happy Monday folks, it’s been a busy one.

On the grooming table, we’ve had Bella, Buddy, Betsy and……. (care to guess the last name??)

…. Stanley, that’s not what you were thinking is it?

Bella is a beautiful little s***zu who enjoyed listening to some acoustic female vocalists with me. We didn’t sing along.

Buddy the energetic sprocker definitely up’ed the tempo to see me through the midway point.

Betsy the boxer had a nail trim, it was a family affair with 3 very cute helpers waiting to assist. I know where to go when it’s time to take on an apprentice.

And then finally Stanley with his amazing colours to brighten an already cheerful Monday. He’s such a well mannered chap, we always enjoy our time together, he even enjoyed an unannounced visit from one of my cats.

In for day care we had Teddy the spaniel who wasn’t sure at first of the big scary golden retriever boarding with us, but after a walk in the fields they definitely found a new friend in each other.

If only every Monday could be like today.

Katniss the spaniel had a return visit, she was like little Miss Confident which was reassuring as she used to be so nervous when she came to see me.

Archie the cockerpoo had his first visit after recently being groomed by his owner, not going to lie a felt a little under pressure as he already looked really good.

Benny, also a cockerpoo and also having his first visit reallllyyyy wasn’t happy when I tried to remove some of his matted fur from his paws and ears, but once it had gone he was such a happy chap, unfortunately he wouldn’t let me trim his muzzle today but that just means I get to have more Benny hugs later.

It’s been busy on the boarding front with new guests arriving in the form of Coco the spaniel and Max the golden retriever. It never fails to amaze us just how big Max is, fortunately he’s a lovely soul and always keeps us entertained.

Rolo and Bisto the jackerpoos came back for their usual wash, dry and cuts. Both very well behaved and showed a lot of love for each other.

Our mate Archie the golden retriever is a regular at the FPS for boarding and grooming so of course we love him lots, took a lot of persuading to get in the bath!

Maggie the cavapoo liked to play the floor is lava whenever I tried to cut her front paws, if anyone’s wondering she’s very good at it.

Chip, Cookie, Miley and Daisy all had a very enjoyable first night of their holidays with us, they must have been ultra-tired as we didn’t hear a peep out of them overnight and they all loved their walks in the sunshine today.
