So yesterday during a very hot morning i had a fabulous visit from me little bestie Charlotte!

Charlottes on school holidays and she decided she wanted to make some dog treats just for the dogs that visit the salon!🐾 She wanted me to give them to the dogs to make them happy!🐶
I think you will agree its a lovely selfless thing to do🫶

What i thought would be nice is to maybe raise some pennies for Charlotte so she has a bit of pocket pennies for herself😁 what do you think? So if your at the salon please have a look at her georgous treats.. completley made with love🫶❤️

Heat and grooming.

Due to the heat over the next few days some appointments maybe have to be rescheduled.

Cancelling appointments is for whatever reason always difficult for me and causes me a big headache with the diary 🤪 however it is always an easy decision when it comes to grooming in the heat.
Simply put hot dogs die ..😔they never die from missing a groom... When a dog attends a grooming appointment their adrenalin is already pumping and raising their heart rate before they get to the salon. This can be because of a car ride or a walk and then having to be seperated from their owners.
Once in the salon i do everything i can to reduce your dogs stress and keep them cool and happy.
Heat in my salon in the afternoon is extreme and your dogs welfare is my priority and i will not put them at risk of heat related injury and i make no apologies for putting them first i hope you can appreciate this.
Questions i often get...
Why not use a AC unit? So we have tried this and it is lovely for me in between grooms but after the blasters have been on the air is so hot the A C then has to cool the environment down again which takes alot of energy and electric!

Why cant you groom my dog wet?
The drying process is a hige part of a dogs coat preperation it blows out the dead coat and assists with a smooth transition for my grooming tools. My clippers and blades are expensive
and the blades blunt very quickly on a wet coat.

I always endevour to fit your dogs back in as soon as i can in the meantime you can keep them cool with damp bandanas, pools and cool mats😃

Hi just a quick post...(not a pity post lol)
So i have had to cancel today's grooms which is not ideal especially on the back of the hot weather cancellations🥺 this is something i only ever do if i have literally no alternative.

For some way of explanation and for most of my clients that do not know i suffer with a chronic pain condition called Fibromyalgia. On a day to day basis i suffer acute relentless pain plus a georgous array of other wierd symptoms.
Generally i can manage what it throws at me with careful balance of medication and a balanced diary of work.
At the moment this condition is.. for the want of a better phrase kicking my arse.. i cannot pick up my clippers let alone groom🫩

If i do not rest my body and brain now it will keep me down longer
In relation to appointments i will work hard to sort your grooming
When i am able and let you know accordingly.

I want to say to everyone thank you for your understanding and support while i work through it🫶

Hi everyone so we are already at 24 degrees in the salon and thats with a fan on windows open no blasters going😵‍💫 for that reason i have decided to cancel this afternoon grooms and will look to reschedule as soon as i can. Canceling the groom is for your dogs welfare and for some being in the salon is stressful which also raises their heart rate and increases the likelyhood of them suffering heat stroke and exhaustion.
For your dogs just go about your normal ways of keeping them cool a damp tea towel round the neck is v effect, some cool mats spread around also helpful.

I will try to reschedule as soon as i can but please bear with me i only have enough hours in the day and i am already working planned days off to re book dogs.

So from the 18th to the 25th June i will be taking a break to recharge any messaged between these times will be dealt with on my return🥰

So... all appointments for the rest of the year i think are just about done🤪 if you havnt heard from me yet ive still got some to send out so dont panic if youve not heard from me!
If i havnt messaged with your dates and you think ive forgotten you drop me a message! Apologises if i have forgotten anyone!

On appointments... i try really hard to get them for your requested days/times its not always possible as i have to consider slot sizes, groom requirements etc as well as my own commitments through the year and my diary has little wriggle room either🤪
I appreciate sometimes you may want to consider another groomer if you cannot get the times you need/want as always your dogs welfare is paramount so you must always do what you think is best for them. Please check any potential groomer is
Qualified and insured not all are
and if yoir dog is particuarly nervous consider the impact of someone new touching and handling them against the need for the groom i worry about your dogs as much as you do🥰

Hi if you have an appointment with us this morning and we continue to have no power please do not attend. I will not have electric in the salon and therefore cannot use the shower/bath your dogs electric for my clippers etc🥺

Old man Henry was in the club...oops i mean salon today... 😉i dont think theres any greater privelage than looking in the face of an old dog for me as a groomer its one of my favourite things 🤗🤩🐾
