Good morning everyone! Hope you enjoyed the weekend and hot wether🌞⛱️🐾

Just a quick message for clients who have grooming appointments this week...

With the hot weather due to continue this week i may need to reschedule some appointments.
This will affect appointments mainly scheduled in the afternoon due to the humidity and heat in the salon which puts your dogs at risk of heat stroke.

We will try our best to get through the appointments while keeping your dogs safe and comfortable but i will pop you a message to notify you of any changes to your scheduled appointment.

When our clients are poorly or when they pass over to rainbow bridge🌈 as groomers we feel the loss too😪 and some.. well some hit harder for a variety of reasons and Belle is one of those for us.
Belle had been coming to Mishka's for grooming for many years in fact she was one of my first lot of clients in the early days!
Belle was a differant kind of special because although she technically had 4 legs she really only had 3 as one of them was a cute little leg that well didnt really grow or form properly🤷‍♀️😆 so she got around on 3 and boy did she get around!!😆
Nothing stopped her from enjoying life to the full and she had the best family with whom she did that with💖
Thank you to Belle's owners for choosing us to be part of her life story! we are definatly richer for spending time with her and learning from her the power of resilence and determination!
Belle it has been an honour and a privilege run/hop free over the bridge🫶🌈

Why Some Dogs Hesitate at the Groomer?

Some dogs run right through the door.
Some walk in slow.
And some hit the brakes like, “nope, not today.”

If your dog hesitates, it doesn’t mean anyone hurt them or that the groomer isn’t good to them. A lot of dogs just don’t love the process of grooming, even when the person doing it is gentle and patient.

Grooming comes with:

• New smells
• Loud sounds
• Being away from their person
• Standing still
• Dryers, clippers, brushing

It’s a lot of sensory stuff happening all at once, and some dogs are just more sensitive than others. Some had a stressful experience somewhere else. Some just don’t like the “walking through the door” moment, even though they settle once we get started.

Your dog doesn’t have to love grooming to be treated with love during grooming.
My job is to make the whole thing as calm, safe, and predictable as possible and that’s exactly what I focus on every day.🫶❤️🐕🐾
