Earlier this year, the Equiseat Aid underwent a study with to test it over a period 6/7 weeks, using riders of a range of disciplines, experience levels and age demographics.

Nearly 90% of participants found this product to be easy/very easy to recommend; and along with this, we had loads of amazing feedback, and have since heard back from some of the participants to tell us how much it has helped them, longer term. 💪🏻

Why is straightness important when riding? 🐎

As a ridden horse, their bodies are put under a lot of strain. Particularly their muscles - especially in the back - and joints, which impacts the hind legs and hocks.

Horses and riders are both naturally more dominant on one side of their body. Sometimes, the horse may encourage you over to one particular side, making you more dominant that way too, and similarly the rider may be so dominant on one side that they encourage the horse to be that way too. A bit of a chicken and egg situation!

A straight horse will be physically and mentally in balance, symmetrically and muscularly fit which will allow them to be supple and strong and carry the rider without putting too much strain on their bodies.

As a rider, it is so important that we take responsibility to be as straight and as aware of our bodies as we can be, because if we’re not straight then how can we expect our horses to be?

How long until I start feeling the effects of the Equiseat Aid? ⬇️

You will usually feel the effects immediately!

For most people this is the case. You will automatically feel how the Equiseat Aid is putting you in a better position, and your horse usually feels freer after just 10 minutes of wearing it.

It may feel weird the first couple of times you ride in it, because you have had the same habits for such a long time and your body will be placed in a different position, but it only takes a couple of rides before you are used to it, and most of our customers say it is “comfortable”.

It will also feel weird for your horse, as they are used to having you in a certain place on their backs. However, they quickly get used to it too, and you will feel and notice a huge difference in the suppleness and bend through their body.

In some rare cases, where the rider and horse are very stuck in their ways, in may take a couple of rides for the Equiseat Aid to really take effect.

For long term, muscle memory to build up, it usually takes between just 6-8 weeks to see a real change in yours and your horses symmetry, without the Equiseat Aid. So, really not a long time compared the amount of time you’ve had your habits!🤩
