Every time I put the kettle on lately, I seem to be doing mental maths.

Food.
Fuel.
Mortgage.
Insurance.
The list just keeps growing.

Like many people across the UK, I’ve felt the pressure of the cost of living crisis. The scary thing isn’t one big bill- it’s all the little increases that quietly chip away at your bank balance every month.

That’s one of the reasons I started looking at ways to create an extra income alongside my day job.

Not because I wanted a flashy lifestyle.
Not because I wanted to get rich overnight.

But because I wanted options.

I wanted to stop worrying every time another bill landed on the doormat. I wanted to keep working towards the things that matter to me- like my kitchen extension - without feeling guilty for spending a penny.

Today my office had birdsong, fresh air, and a view of my own garden. 🌿☀️

No traffic.
No crowded commute.
No rushing out of the door.

Just me, a matcha, and the freedom to work from a place that makes me happy.

For so long, “being rich” meant having more money. These days, it means having more time, more flexibility, and more moments that make me stop and smile.

Being able to step outside, soak up some sunshine, and work from my garden feels like a kind of wealth that money alone can’t buy.

I’m still working towards my goals, but I’m also learning to appreciate the life I’m building along the way.
