Hi, I’m Isaac, a dog trainer based in Ramsbottom!

I trained with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) and I’m currently working towards becoming a behaviourist. I’m force free, which means I don’t use punishment to stop unwanted behaviour. I use positive reinforcement instead.

But here’s the thing that makes me a bit different.

I genuinely believe that more training isn’t always the answer. What most dogs actually need is for their needs to be met. If you have a dog that was bred for a specific job (retrieving, herding, scenting) and their daily life gives them no outlet for that, you’re going to see unwanted behaviours. Pulling, stealing, reactivity, ignoring you completely. Not because they’re bad dogs, but because nobody has listened to what they’re actually saying.

That’s what I work on. And it’s a very different approach to most trainers.
