Please keep your pups safe in this heat! 🥵🐾
We’re very fortunate to have such a cool daycare so we can still enjoy the heat safely!

❤️ A Personal Plea During This Heatwave ❤️

Yesterday, our team treated a very serious case of heatstroke. It was a stark reminder of just how quickly heat can overwhelm a dog and how devastating the effects can be.

With temperatures set to soar this week, please take the heat seriously, especially if you have a flat-faced breed, an older dog, or a dog with underlying health problems.

🔥 Please consider skipping walks altogether on the hottest days. Dogs do not need a walk every day if the weather is unsafe. A day or two of indoor games, training, enrichment activities and extra fuss is far safer than risking heatstroke.

Even indoors, some dogs can struggle to stay cool. This is particularly true for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds such as Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs and Shih Tzus, who already have difficulty regulating their body temperature.

🏠 Ways to help keep your dog cool at home:
❄️ Keep curtains and blinds closed during the day.
❄️ Use fans or air conditioning if available.
❄️ Provide cooling mats or damp towels to lie on.
❄️ Offer plenty of fresh, cool water in several locations around the house.
❄️ Freeze some of their favourite treats or use food puzzles for enrichment.
❄️ Avoid energetic play and exercise.
❄️ Let them rest in the coolest room in the house.
❄️ Never leave pets in cars, conservatories, garden rooms or caravans.

Please also remember:
☀️ Pavements can become hot enough to burn paws within minutes.
☀️ Dogs cannot sweat like we do and can overheat very quickly.
☀️ Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency that can develop in a surprisingly short space of time.

🚨 Signs of heatstroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting
• Confusion or collapse

If you think your dog may be suffering from heatstroke, move them somewhere cool, start cooling them with cold water, and contact us immediately.

🌞 It looks like the sun is finally trying to make a comeback this week! 🌞

Whatever the weather, our K9 Club crew have been making the most of every day. We've enjoyed plenty of walks, lots of playtime, cosy snoozes, cuddles, and of course, plenty of enrichment activities to keep busy minds engaged.

This week we've been tackling puzzle toys, enjoying Licki Mats, exploring scent games in the garden, and even holding football tryouts as we get into the World Cup spirit! ⚽🐾

🌧️☔ June has certainly forgotten it's summer this week! Despite the weary rainy weather, our K9-Club crew hasn't let it dampen the fun.

We've still enjoyed plenty of walks, lots of playtime, cosy snoozes, cuddles, and of course plenty of enrichment activities to keep busy minds engaged. This week we've had toys galore, Licki Mats, treat parcels, bubbles, and fun at the scent wall – all helping to keep tails wagging whatever the weather!

🎉🐾 Happy 3rd Birthday for Sunday, Milo! 🐾🎉

Everyone at K9-Club would like to wish our gorgeous boy Milo a very happy 3rd birthday! 🎂💙

Milo is a happy, playful, lovable, and bouncy boy who brings so much fun and energy wherever he goes. His wagging tail, friendly nature, and cheeky personality always brighten our day, and we're lucky to have him as part of the K9-Club family.

🎉🐾 Happy 4th Birthday to our wonderful Bo! 🐾🎉

Bo turned 4 on Sunday, and we couldn't let the occasion pass without celebrating this amazing girl! 💖

She is happy, goofy, lovable, bouncy, and absolutely full of energy. Whether she's zooming around with her friends, making us laugh with her silly antics, or sharing her endless enthusiasm with everyone she meets, Bo is a true joy to have at K9-Club.

We hope you've had the most pawsome birthday, Bo, filled with treats, cuddles, and plenty of fun! 🦴🎂

At K9 Club, we've had the Great British weather back this week, but that hasn't stopped the fun! 🌧️🐾

Our dogs have still enjoyed their daily walks, along with plenty of enrichment activities to keep them happy and entertained. From lick mats and favourite toys to puzzle feeders packed with tasty treats and even bubble play, there's never a dull moment at K9 Club!
Whatever the weather, we make sure every dog has a fantastic day. ❤️🐶
