Committee Recruitment: Club Treasurer
Could you be our next Club Treasurer?
The Club Treasurer’s role:
To ensure that Lostock Hall JFC stays financially stable by managing the flow of money into the club and recording how that money is spent to run the club. Also providing regular feedback to the Club Committee and members.
Like any position with responsibility for handling money, the Treasurer is expected to be transparent and honest in their dealings as a representative of the Club. Good record-keeping is essential and while a background in finance or accounting is not imperative for this role, it is preferable to have someone who is experienced in managing accounts.
Responsibilities:
Managing the clubs bank account;
- Up to 400 subscription payments received per month across 31 teams currently
- Additional inbound payments e.g. tournament, sponsorship, grants etc.
- Approx 50 outbound payments
- Process supplier invoices in a timely manner
- Pay top up requests to teams
Calculates costs per team;
- Levy
- Winter training
Prepare monthly;
- 31 team statements currently
- Distribute to managers/team treasurers
- Update Club income and expenditure statement
- Prepare monthly update to committee
Other;
- Attend regular committee meetings and be responsible for making decisions
- Answer emails and respond to queries
Skills required:
- Well organised
- Maintain accurate records (current templates will be provided)
- Confident in handling figures and money
- Prepared to make a regular time commitment
Additional Information:
The current Club Treasurer will provide a full handover and will be available in the short term to answer questions. There is also a guidebook which provides instructions on the main tasks.
