One of the biggest and best safari parks in the UK, Knowsley Safari Park has a 5-mile safari drive with lions, white rhino and our infamous troop of baboons. The park also has a large walk-around area, offering close-up views of

giraffe, tigers, meerkats and many more animals. The park is open daily from mid-February until November, and remains open weekends only throughout the winter. We’re wishing our best girl Yuki a huge happy birthday today! 🐯🎉

Yuki turns 7 years old today, and it’s safe to say this past year has been her most memorable yet as she helped the conservation of Amur tigers when she became a mum for the first time.

Since becoming a mum, Yuki has shown everyone what a brilliant tiger she is, and her keepers have shared some of the things that make her Yuki. 💛

She loves nothing more than a tasty fishy snack, spending time playing with her daughter Akira, keeping a close eye and stalking the wild birds around her paddock, and enjoying a well-earned snooze on her favourite platform. 😴

We had a very unexpected visitor at Knowsley Safari last week… 🦜

Meet Billie, an 8-month-old pet parrot from St Helens who had been missing since Monday after flying away from home.

After spending days out in the heatwave and even surviving Wednesday night’s thunderstorms, Billie made quite the entrance on Friday afternoon… by landing directly on staff member Niamh’s head while she was eating her lunch outside our front office!

Thankfully, Billie had only made it as far as our office and car park area, well away from any animal habitats, when he decided to introduce himself to the team.

Our Carnivore Team and Research & Conservation Manager Sophie swooped in to help, and Billie was safely popped into a carrier, checked over, given food and water, and kept company while we worked to find his owner.

Soon after, Billie’s owner Jacqueline arrived with her daughter and grandson, overjoyed to finally have him home after searching for him every day since Monday, including early 4.30am starts calling for him.

Jacqueline said she’d been “lost without him” and thanked the team for helping reunite them ❤️
