The gorgeous Rumi came to see us with a sore tail. As you can see from the x-ray below Rumi had, had a nasty accident and his tail bone was broken.
The best option for Rumi was to have part of his tail amputated. The surgery was very successful and Rumi has recovered really well ❤️🥰

Anaesthesia can be a bit more tricky for smaller animals. It’s important to monitor smallies closely and make sure they are nice and warm.

We were all very excited to have Twig in for the day 😁🐀🐾

Here at Medivet Potters Bar we have access to a range of specialist equipment as part of our wider Medivet family. A lot of our treatments can be kept in house with our regular staff caring for your animals through their time with us.

Aki is a regular patient of ours. He has a history of seizures, which are controlled with medications. Nurse Syd transported him over to our Hendon hospital for an MRI scan. The MRI scan is used to check for any changes to Aki’s brain structure.

Pleased to say that no significant changes have occurred since his last scan. Aki is such a sweet soul and he did really well. Well done Aki. ❤️

We had so many photos of the gorgeous Bertie it was hard to choose. 🥰❤️

Earlier this week he came in for a dental descale and polish. If you scroll through the photos you will see his before and after pic’s.
He had a build up of plaque especially on the upper and lower canines. Thea removed all the plaque and cleaned around the gums to give him bright shiny white teeth. 🦷

The lovely Millie came in to see us yesterday for her routine check up and vaccination.
She was delighted to receive a Medivet ball afterwards, and we had fun playing with it in reception!
She was such a good girl ♥️

The very chilled Luna and Charlie came in just before Christmas for their neutering surgery. As Luna is a girl her neutering is called spaying and for Charlie as he is a boy it’s castration.

Spaying – The vet will make an incision in your female cat’s abdomen and remove her ovaries and uterus (ovariohysterectomy). It is a surgical procedure and your cat will be given a general anaesthetic and pain relief

Castration – In male cats the vet will remove the testicles (orchidectomy) by making a small incision in the sc***um.

If you would like to discuss neutering please call and speak with one of our nurses who can give you advice and talk you through the whole process. 💚🩺
