We have officially rescued 300 animals since opening!

300 animals who were shown love and compassion when they needed it most. 300 animals who were shown respect and given autonomy. Scaley, furry, prickly, slimy, and feathered babies of all ages, life stages, and disabilities.

We prioritise neglect and abandonment cases- helping hundreds recover from severe neglect. We have made so many tough decisions over the years, but always in the best interest of the animals life and their welfare.

The emotional tole of running the rescue, seeing all the neglect and having to see so many pass over the rainbow bridge is enormous- but we would always rather know that they felt safe and loved whilst here and wherever they go after us.

Along with the emotional tolls, the financial costs of running the rescue have been incredibly draining- causing us to have to unfortunately scale back our intakes dramatically. Having to turn away the animals that need us the most has been heartbreaking, but we are so grateful to the rescues we partner with that step in when we cant! Notions

This has been our hardest year so far, with the rise in the cost of living massively impacting us.
In the 5 years of running we have spent close to £25,000 on veterinary costs alone and our electricity bills are extortionate! We want nothing more than to keep our doors open and continue rescuing the animals that need us the most.

We want to say a huge thank you to our foster homes for providing a safe space for rescues until their forever homes find them. Chloe Basney Plants Carolina & Sister

Thank you so much to Notions for being one of our biggest mentors and inspiration for starting the rescue. We wouldn’t have ever gone down this path if not for them ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone for their support all these years! We would have had to close our doors permanently by now if not for you all ❤️

The animals at the rescue have massively impacted my life and has lead me to pursue my passion in academic research to help improve welfare standards for these incredible animals

Dove has been adopted!!

Dove arrived to us with a pretty severe vitamin A deficiency. Her eyes were sealed shut, her mouth was full of rot and she was malnourished. After weeks of syringe feeding and daily eye cleans she started eating on her own! She was such a good girl throughout everything and we are so proud of how far she has come ❤️

She is going to be so loved and spoiled in her forever home!

Edith update!

Since arriving to us in January Edith has come a long way in her rehabilitation journey! Her shell has started to harden really well and she is being more adventurous and has been trying all different types of food.

Due to her MBD, we had some major concerns about what her future could look like; so we had her tested for mycoplasma and herpes and after receiving her negative tests results have decided to keep her here as a permanent resident.

She will most likely always be a very flat tortoise, but we can definitely work on the strength of her shell!

We have many disabled permanent residents here that require specialist care and frequent vet visits. Any donations at all towards the rescues and sanctuary residents is appreciated beyond words ❤️

How incredible is our native wildlife! Slowworm populations are in decline in the UK- so it is so important that we protect and respect them!

We completely forgot to make an introduction post for this baby! But August the Reticulated Python found his forever home yesterday ❤️

Finding homes for large snakes is so difficult, often taking us months and months, so we are extremely grateful that he was able to find his loving forever home so quickly!

He will be going to live with a very experienced family, the same family that adopted Ezekiel and Hunter the boa constrictors from us!

This beautiful grass snake was brought into someone’s home by their cat. Luckily he only had one very small superficial wound at the end of his tail. He had a sleepover at the rescue so we could keep an eye on him overnight and we cleaned his wound. We released him early this morning ❤️

Protecting native herptiles is so important for them and our ecosystems! They are protected by the wildlife and countryside act. We are very grateful he will be okay and will hopefully find some lovely lady snakes to boost our native populations!
