🐴 Changing Lives Through Horses 🌿

Today’s session was all about grooming and leading horses; some of the most powerful ways to connect with our horses.

Through gentle brushing both in and out the stable, our participants learned how small, calm actions can build trust, confidence, and mindfulness. Through grooming the ponies, our participants engaged well, keeping focused on the task and empathetic of the horses wellbeing.

When leading ponies, our participants were given a sense of responsibility, helping to build on self confidence.

We then had a lovely hack out together, discussing riding posture. Focusing on our communication skills and self confidence development.

Today is a gentle reminder that our mental health matters, every single day.

At Westerlands, we’re constantly reminded how powerful horses and nature can be in helping us find peace, balance, and connection. 🐴🌿

There’s something truly healing about the quiet moments , the sound of hooves on a woodland trail, the rhythm of a horse’s breath, the open space to simply be.

To everyone who visits, rides, or cares for our horses, thank you for being part of a community that values kindness, understanding, and the wellbeing of both people and animals. 💫

Halloween!!

Friday 31st October - Join us for a magical 30 minute Pony Trick-or-Treat Trail on our family farm! ✨

Set off on a fun-filled pony walk (in groups of four) as you follow spooky clues to uncover hidden tricks and treats along the way. After the trail, every little adventurer can enjoy 30 minutes in our equestrian activity room, creating a spooky Halloween decoration to take home alongside their goodies.

It’s a wonderful way for children to connect with nature, enjoy the outdoors, and celebrate the magic of Halloween in a safe, family-friendly setting.
