Meet Galan 🧡

Introducing Galan, our handsome 15hh Argentinian gelding 🇦🇷. He’s a calm, easygoing soul who’s always happy to take life at his own pace.

Galan is never in a rush and loves taking his time, whether he’s out on a trek or simply enjoying his surroundings. He’s a real sweetheart who would much rather quietly enjoy the journey than compete for attention.

With his relaxed nature and gentle personality, Galan is a lovely member of the Westerlands team and a firm favourite on the yard. 🥰

One of the best things about Pony Camp isn’t just the riding – it’s watching friendships grow, confidence blossom and seeing riders head off to bed each night with huge smiles after a full day with the ponies.

In just a few weeks, we’ll be doing it all over again, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the yard. 🐴💚

Meet the Team 💫

First up, we’d like to introduce our Equestrian Manager, Elly Middleton!

With over 30 years of experience, Elly has dedicated her career to caring for horses and helping riders of all ages and abilities build confidence in the saddle. She is also a BHS Accredited Professional Coach and specialises in natural complementary equine therapies. 🐴

These days, Elly works hard behind the scenes to keep everything at Westerlands Equestrian
running smoothly, supporting both our horses and our team and ensuring everyone has the best possible experience when they visit.

We’re sure many of you already know Elly, but don’t forget to say hello if you see her 👋

☀️ Our second day camp of the summer! ☀️

A great day was had by all! We enjoyed two rides, some theory sessions and plenty of practical activities throughout the day. It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved, learning new skills and having fun along the way.

Our first day camp of the summer was a fantastic one! ☀️🐴

Everyone enjoyed a lovely hack out through the countryside before spending time grooming in our new barn. We finished the day with a fun-filled gymkhana to round off the day.

Our Pony Day Camp is just around the corner, and we’d love to welcome a few more young pony enthusiasts! Choose 1, 2 or all 3 Days…

📅 27th, 28th & 29th July
⏰ 10am–3pm
👧 Ages 9–15
🐴 Suitable for all abilities

A fun-filled day of off-road pony rides, grooming and pony care, hands-on yard activities, games, and interactive learning- all set in the beautiful countryside at Westerlands.

It’s a great opportunity for children to build confidence, make new friends and spend the day doing what they love.

£120 for one day or £300 for all three days. Juice and biscuits are provided- just bring a packed lunch.

Spaces are limited, so get in touch to book your place!
